according to my psychology textbook and my teacher, about 90% of the world population is right handed. This also means that they are somewhat left-brain dominant.

Which brings to mind... if the left brain specializes in creativity and language, and the right specializes in logic and though processing, does this mean a larger percentage of Aspies are left-handed than NT's?

I'll have to interrogate my psych teacher about these questions...

I thought the right brain was for creativity and language....

I am left-dominant, but there are many things I do equally poorly with both hands.

Hmm... I really don't know. I'm going to check with my psych teacher tomorrow.

I'd say I use both almost equally, but in a race I guess the right hand might win by a nose.

When I was young I could use either hand to write with equally, but my father wanted me to start using only one and he made me use the right. I can still write with my left, buy my right writes faster.

Point is, are you left- or righthanded, people tend to swing one way
or the other. Guess if you write with the right one, you`re right handed
and vice versa.

Oh, and by "Switching from one to the other" i mean for example writing
with the left just as easily as the right but maybe you use one of them more

Thank you for voting :)

yeah I made a joke
I am right handed for writing lol

It`s strange, yesterday i made this thread/poll-thingy, trying to make
it easy to use and such. Today i look at it, and for some reason now it
sounds so perverted :) sorry about that :) No wonder Kilroy had a
laugh in the first post, i read it now and had to laugh myself

Well my right hand is my main tool, my left hand is there to aid the other or do something that does not require too much skill, at least I type with both fairly well. I also use them the same idea when using knife and forke, right hand is main tool so it uses fork and left hand aid so it gets knife. But for some reason everyone else uses them the other way.

Right hand for all purposes :P (by that I mean typing, using fork and knife, writing, using keys in locks, unbottling drinks, opening cans, ... well what else could I use my hands for? :) )

During childhood (around age 8) I had this very weird obsession with left-handed writing and wanted to really learn to write left-handed. I failed miserably though despite hours of training per week. It was one of my odd obsessions I guess.

I do kick the ball with the left foot when doing a drop kick, while for a volley or for kicking a ball rolling over the pitch I use the right foot. Oddly enough, a drop kick (which means as goalkeeper throwing the ball up with your hand and kicking it far away before it hits the ground) is easier with my left foot.

I usually use my right, but sometimes I like to live on the wild side and engage it with my left.

That was a bit off "normal", sounds like you have a strong left "tendency"
and a hammer is something i would have guessed you used the left on also.
i always wrote and such with my left and used most tools with it also
not saying you are not "normal" or that its wrong :) just found it interessting

According to the New York Times (quoting Dr. Norman Geschwind) and this website, there is a higher incidence of left-handedness in the autistic community.

(I am a lefty.)

I write with my right.

I throw a baseball/football with my left.

I use a fork/knife/spoon in either hand.

I purposely switch hands when using a screwdriver or hammer.

I switch hands when driving a vehicle as well.

I open/close doors with either hand.

Let the hand do the talking topic

Either hand will do. Very handy!

Feet are good too, when you do not want to bend, and can get those toesies to go toe to toe. Very toedy! I tend to be right-footed, here! :D
