Nobody learns Polish until he's forced

yeah I know a few good ones but they unfortunately are impossible to translate :p

Like this cool riddle about the name of a "train to Zakopane city" which can also mean "sex drive towards the buried" so the answer is necrophilia

Never heard that one before but thats funny

Pociąg has two meanings here: train but also: attraction, inclination, sex drive while Zakopane - our "winter capital city" as it's sometimes called here - means literally "buried". Many beginners who aren't good at English yet make this mistake in their compositions, writing "I feel a train for her" while what they're going to express is that they in fact feel attraction for this person

One of my other favourite jokes which is also untranslatable is about a man who doesn't pronounce "r" and who having just spent the night in a hotel informs receptionist that he has made his bed while in fact he shitted on his bed  because "posRałem łóżko" means "I shitted on my bed" while when you can't pronounce "r" you say "posŁałem łóżko" which in turn means "I made my bed".

Rumour has it that the original alarm featured Jesus announcing "I'm coming! I'm coming! Oh, God! I'm coming!" but since the manufacturer has denied it and the first batch of Raptu-lerts were recalled to the factory (supposedly for a minor defect in the test button), there's no way to confirm this.

Three nuns die and go to heaven, and St Peter says they each have to answer a question to be admitted to heaven. He asks the first nun, "Who was the first man?" and she says Adam, so St Peter lets her into heaven.

He asks the second nun, "Who was the first woman?" and she says Eve, so he lets her in too.

He asks the third nun, "What did Eve say when she first saw Adam?" The nun says, "That's a hard one..." and St Peter lets her in too.

:P

I've heard it before, I found it quite funny. And I've heard the one gina just posted, that's one of my favourites.

I couldn't get why the teacher would faint over the threat she gave another student unless Jimmy was the teacher.

I felt so stupid for not getting this joke but my husband told me it was a religious joke and it's complicated.

Am I the only one who didn't get this joke? I feel so stupid to see other aspies getting it but not me until my husband explained it to me.

Did you think that the punchline was the teacher fainting? Cos that part was kind of unnecessary, it could have stopped before that.

Quote:
Mary was a little girl who didn't like school very much. She often fell asleep in class.

One day she was in RE class (religion), and she fell asleep i her chair.
Behind her sat a little boy named jimmy holding a sharp pin.
Her teacher asked her "Mary who is our savior the one who payed for our sins", mary didn't awake to answer the question.
Jimmy poked mary with his pin in her back, and instantly she jumped up and shouted "jesus christ",
"very good mary" said the teacher

Some minutes late, the teacher asked her " Mary who is the one who is our creator"?
Again mary remained in her slumber so again jimmy came to the rescue and poked mary with the pin again, and she jumped up and shouted "oh my god",
"excellent mary", said the teacher

And again 5 minutes later the teacher asked her "Mary what did eve say to adam, when she was about to give birth to there 23rd child"
once again jimmy poked mary with the pin,
then mary jumped up, turned to jimmy and said
"IF YOU STICK THAT THING IN MY ONE MORE TIME I WILL SNAP IT IN HALF AND SHOVE IT IN YOUR ***"

The teacher fainted.

The teacher thought Mary implied that Eve told Adam that if he put his wossname in Eve one more time she would snap the wossname in half and shove it up where the sun doesn't shine. Do you understand now? :D

Yes it was the teacher fainting. I couldn't understand why she fainted to what Mary said to Jimmy. So I thought could she have been Jimmy and it was a brain teaser joke. Teachers can be male too and they just said "little boy" to trick us. I don't know if the OP made the joke up or got it from somewhere.

Yes, my husband told me the teacher thought Mary was talking about the penis. I thought she was talking about the pin which she was but the teacher didn't know that. Lack of my theory of mind again. Because I knew Mary was talking about the pin, I thought the teacher would know too. That's why I feel so stupid because I should have known and used my common sense and logic. And they say we're logical thinkers?

Well, if such a thing actually happened, I suppose the teacher might faint with shock from hearing a child say something like that.

Usually when giving an opinion on something you provide reasoning behind it. This is a forum, after all.
