A few factors to consider;
1. Genetics
2. Quality of food available to us (99% fat free means = 99% sugar + 1% fat)
3. Lifestyle #1 - No Time - Nowadays, people work more and have less time for exercise - we have to rush everywhere (so we use cars instead).
4. Lifestyle #2 - Labour Savings - No need to walk - We all have cars, No need to scrub, dishwashers etc..
5. The Nature of work - My 50+ hours a week are spent sitting at a desk or in meetings.
6. Convenience - A few minutes on the internet saves walking around the shops
7. Availability of Food - Our ancestors were starving most of the time, that's why they weren't obese. My grandparents in the depression ate dripping - that can't be healthy.
I don't think you can start blaming people for being fat. It would be like people blaming us for being aspies.
Not fair at all.
Hey I don't work out at all and I am still thin. I walk every where (I take busses), I don't eat fast food all the time, or eat sweets every day, I also don't eat much food, at least two meals a day. I also walk around at work. My job requires you to be on your legs all day so that helps.
People need to not eat out at fast food so much, or eat a lot of food, eat like the way I do. We also don't need to buy desserts or junk food every time we go grocery shopping. People need to eat less food if they don't get much workout.
I am not talking about people who have medical problems that make them fat. I am talking about people who are overweight and don't have a gene that makes them that way.
I also know it's easy for teens and young adults to lose weight but for middle aged adults and older, it's harder. You don't lose it by dieting, you would have to work out to lose it. So if you don't have time to work out at the gym or at home, you're screwed.
