Little people, multiples, large families and other dysfunctions topic

The appeal of these reality TV series is that there is always something happening that is out of the ordinary.

I have watched one show of each and I have found any problems of mine are nothing compared to theirs.

There is a family of septuplets (there were eight but one died a week after birth) and I do not see them being paraded about on TV. These children recently celebrated their tenth birthdays. This family in California has requested anonymity and value their privacy. They did not ask for recognition and glory, in addition to money and I applaud them for that.

The newest octuplets just born (again in California) are another rarity and I hope they survive without all the hoopla associated with multiples, little people, large families and other various dysfunctions. :x

There was another popular multiples set of 5 or 6 I forget. They graced the cover of People and all the womens magazines like Womans Day during the 80's or early 90's. I remember reading somewhere that now all the kids are disgruntled with their parents for putting them in the spotlight and say their adult lives are troubled because of this. The husband left the wife because he couldn't handle the stress of that many kids.

I suppose the only reason any family of multiples subjects themselves to such scrutiny of appearing in magazines and on tv is so they can earn enough money to pay for diapers and everything else a litter of babies requires.

They're Hawaiian descent, aren't they?
I don't know if I want to watch the show anymore - I never saw any abuse until now...

Jon's mother is of Korean heritage and father is Caucasian. Jon's family lives in Hawaii. In fact there is one episode where Jon's cooks Pulkogi for the kids. Pulkogi is a traditional Korean bbq meat dish.

Many Aspies have the Neanderthal forehead that juts out. Though of the boys have the Aspie forehead and they act weird. Just an observation.

I don't notice any neanderthal foreheads on any aspies I come across. The one boy seems to be obsessed with animals, and Joel is a tad bit strange(I feel bad for saying it, but i really don't like him that much. :( ) but, other than that, I haven't noticed much in the way of spectrum behavior.

Anyone see the episode last week with Colin and his train obsession? The parents repeatedly said Colin likes to line things up, gets upset if the other kids mess up the order of the things he lines up and memorizes facts. I tell you he has Aspergers as does Joel and Aaden perhaps Hannah too. Just wait till they get in school the teachers will point out their weirdness they will end up with IEP's and we will know they have Aspergers.

They all have obsessions. Alexis I noticed with alligators. Hannah with horses. Aaden with animals. Collin with trains. Leah I haven't noticed any. Joel not sure really. Joel is out there though. The boys are def PDD or something.

I think its just a matter of "just sit back and watch" as someone I used to know always said. It appears the kids are going to grow up on tv probably at least for a couple more years till the tv audience grows tired of them like they do with all shows. Eventually the kids will be adults and tell all like previous septuplets have done who resented the media attention. Then we will know who has AS, ADD or if the kids felt abused or neglected.

Interestingly, on HLN today a psychologist spoke about how preemies typically have developmental disabilities in reference to the Octuplets recently born. BTW another reporter said that woman already has 2 Autistic kids out of the original 6 kids. But that's another story.

I always thought there was something going on with Aaden. As for the older twins, Mady is extremely controlling. I'm thinking she's maybe bipolar or OCD. Kate may have OCD as well.

BTW, Kate came to Indianapolis last week! I wanted to see her give her speech, but it was too crowded to even see her on the stage. And she didn't have a microphone so I could barely even hear her! She went to the Indy Home Show to talk about home organization and her life and kids in general.
