i don't think i've ever had anything horrific happen to my food (or i've repressed the memory) so all i can think of are some hairs here and there, which are almost unavoidable when the seasons change and you own a golden retriever who sheds like, well, a b***h. there have also been things like a dead bug or something, in which case i'm somewhat disgusted but i throw the food out and get another portion.

We had a snail in our bag of frozen peas once.

The worst thing that I come across food wise tends to be the occasional egg that has spots of blood inside of it.

Though my mom told me that one of the worst thing she came across was when she cracked and poured an egg into a frying pan, and there was a half-formed chick inside it.

BUG (like a June Bug) in a can of Hormel scalloped potatoes in ham. All my coworkers saw it. It was GROSS. Sent it to Hormel and they said it was just a piece of burned meat (with six legs??? what species???).

Hmm. I think I found a weevil in a pepper I bought at the store once. Yuck.

Please clarify. I'm curious, but confused.

Sorry, bad running joke. "Dirty Jersey" and all that. As in, our food is generally clean, in contrast to the state...

*shutters* That's the worst sounding one, because you have NO CLUE where the blood came from...not that I would be happy with bugs and mice in my food either!
I haven't had anything like that happen to my food yet. I'll ask my mom if anything like that's happened to her though :P

I have to be very careful when eating at my college's cafeteria. I've run into mold several times.
