Confused Fish, do you have any more characters? As for shadow powers, some time ago I made a mutant (it’s unfinished yet) whose power was he had a shadow which was a sentient being – sentient but evil and its owner couldn’t control it, on the opposite, he was a slave of it.

Ok, my contribution:

Name: Jason Wendii
Alias: The Saviour
Age: 42 y/o
Occupation: Unemployed
Sex: Male
Location: Gothenburg, Sweden
Height: 178 cm
Weight: 162 kg
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Bluish gray
Skin: Pale
Powers: Can build insane structures out of playing cards, can make noises that distract people and animals alike, can endure long sessions of communcation with dead objects.

Jason Wendii is an overweight man without capability to communicate with people. His parents noticed he was different very early on, as his powers started to manifest between the age of 2 to 4 when he build a true copy of the Eiffel tower using 17443 playing cards that his dad had laying around at the age of 3. His father is a mutant as well, and has an obsession of collecting playing cards in all shapes and colors. His mother is active in the community to promote mutants and remove public fear and tries to initiate debates.

There isn't really very much to say about Jason because his powers are so mysterious, it seems as though he lives halfway inside another reality normal people can only dream about. Nevertheless, it seems as though he needs food, because he's making funny noises when he's hungry. When he's not eating or building structures out of cards, he is generally meditating by talking with a chair, two special drawers that he seem to like particularily, a glove and a certain ring that hangs from the ceiling fan. Even though he seems harmless, he has a deadly scream that chills to the bone whenever something comes between him and his cards.

Since his powers are so mysterious and ungraspable for normal people, he is sometimes believed to be ethereal, or possess divine abilities that with the mere concept would be to complex for any human mind to understand anyway. Some people also believe that he may be some sort of observer sent by the gods to live among the humans [citation needed]. Many attempts have been done to test his cognitive power, or intelligence. But despite all efforts, it has become evident that there are no humans on this planet intelligent enough to understand his complex language, so he, wrongfully but uniformly, scores a perfect 3 on all IQ tests. A religious cult in Colorado has expressed a belief that the 3 represent the father, the mother and the coming of the holy cow, and many other factors seem to indicate this as well [citation needed].

:D I love that concept! I can easily see that being used in some very interesting story lines..

I haven't made any more characters yet but I will give it a go and try to make some more (possibly tonight if I remember)

Ok here's my first attempt at creating a mutant character. :D

Name: Misty
Age: 17
Occupation: None.
Sex: Female
Location: New York City, USA
Hair: Black
Eyes: Red
Skin: Pale
Powers: Telepathy, immortality. Can create anything (usually monsters) by simply imagining them.

Story: When Misty was born her parents came close to rejecting her after seeing her unusual appearance. Instead she is brought to her parents house but is never allowed outside. As she grew older her parents grew more and more fearful of her and her strange behaviour. She never sleeps or eats. Has never been ill and disappeared for days at a time. One day, when she was 15 years old her parents decided to send her away to a so called “mutant reform camp”. When Misty finds this out she is furious and imagines her revenge. Unknown to her at the time, her revenge takes physical form and destroys her parents house, seriously injuring them in the process. Highly amused at this, she spends several months exploring her new abilities with great delight, terrorising her neighbourhood.

Months later Misty appears in New York City having given up terrorising people.(For the moment). After only three days she gets into trouble after randomly sending one of her monsters to destroy a bank. The X-men are alerted to her presence after this incident and resolve to catch her…

Name: Fatlum Zogjani
Mutant Name: Thoughtform
Classification: Gamma mutant
Occupation: Serial killer
Allegiance: None; he always works on his own due to his distrust, hatred and paranoic fear of people
Age: 31
Sex: Male
Location: Albania
Height: 189 cm
Weight: 114 kg
Hair: None
Eyes: Yellowish, abnormally big
Skin: Light brown

Powers: Full control over air molecules

Abilities unrelated to his mutation: Thoughtform possess quite the extensive knowledge of religions of the world derived from books that were on the farm. He uses this knowledge to make his “hell” look more convincing to his victims.

Personality: Fatlum is a simple farmer, he’s of average intelligence but due to his lack of any education he seems less smart than really is. Thoughtform hates his looks. He has a strange weakness for everything sinister, dark and scary.

Fatlum possesses the ability to create “thoughtforms” which name he uses referring to his creations that are in fact nothing more than extremely realistic but empty crusts made by him thanks to his ability to manipulate atoms of the air his thoughtforms are made of. They can resemble everything their maker ever saw or is able to imagine – items (simple like coins and pebbles and more complicated like whole landscapes), animals, even human beings. Obviously, they don’t have feelings or self-consciousness (in this respect they behave a bit like computers that perform tasks thanks to their programming making them do this but aren’t self-aware) but in spite of it nobody, even Zogjani himself would be able to distinguish them from regular animals or people because if only he wishes so, they can behave as if they were real, imitating facial gestures and movements (not noises or smells, obviously). So if for example Fatlum wants his thoughtform dog to wave its tail, it will happen so but he can’t make it bark. Or he can wish to have a sensuous woman in his bed, behaving exactly as he wants her to behave – not any different than real females of flesh and blood. After few hours thoughtforms vanish into thin air but Fatlum can also choose in every moment of their “life” that he doesn’t need them any more and make them disappear. His air molecules manipulation ability lets him also create impenetrable force fields around himself or take “air walks” – thanks to hardening air in particular areas he’s able to literally climb the air. His power’s another aspect allows him also to kill people by reducing the motion of air molecules around them which in turn causes his victims aren’t able to breathe. Fatlum can influence air within the reach of five meters from him.

The name Fatlum means “fortunate” but in this case nothing could be more far from the truth. Thoughtform was raised on a secluded farm in the middle of nowhere in Albanian mountains. His mutation gave him hideous body deformations, making him look like a creature from a nightmare not a human being. Little Fatlum spent whole hours praying to look like others. He was never sent to any school. Deprived of company of peers, when his power activated, the boy started to console himself in his loneliness by creating sophisticated worlds limited to the space of his house. He made also friends for himself, friends who vanished into thin air several hours later. Thoughtform’s fear of rejection from other people instilled into him by parents who realized their son had no chance to live normal life caused he developed avoidant personality disorder. In the same time, having showed tendency for antisocial behaviors since his early childhood, Fatlum started to exhibit psychopathic traits. After his parents’ death, Thoughtform started to go to night escapades during which he caught innocent people he met on his way, took them to his cellar and put to torture to take revenge on them. Tortures and rapes that lasted long hours – it’s his punishment, his revenge for his fate. Thoughtform’s mutant power is able to create very convincing images of flames and lakes of fire. The deformed looks of their tormentor makes Fatlum’s victims believe he’s a demon and his cellar is nothing else but hell. Thoughtform always keeps at least one victim in the cellar of his ruined house with whom he can play in this way even for several weeks; when he or she dies, the dead body is buried by him. He lives in the world of fantasies where he’s a devil and those ones he tortures are damned souls tormented by him. Fatlum lives mostly nocturnal lifestyle.

Trivia:
-Thoughtform almost never wears clothes except for underwear because he derives masochistic pleasure from looking at his hideously disfigured body. He subconsciously thinks he deserves his monstrously inhuman appearance because he has some pricks of conscience because of his crimes.

-Not going to let other people know about his abilities, Fatlum keeps his power secret from those few people aside from his victims who ever had any occasion to talk to him – every time when asked about his mutant power, Thoughtform answers his mutation is only physical and that he can’t do anything apart from looking like a monster.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Holger Hirsch
Mutant Name: Property
Classification: Epsilon mutant
Affiliation: The Shadow King
Age: 15
Sex: Male
Height: 172 cm
Weight: 62 kg
Hair: Ginger, curly, longish
Eyes: Blue
Skin: Pale with freckles
Powers: He possesses a living shadow

Story: Many young mutants wish they had mutant parents who thanks to this would be able to understand what their children go through. Holger Hirsch though would willingly sacrifice everything only to come from the most ordinary family in the world. His father from whom the boy inherited his X-Gene was a cruel Austrian criminal; his mutant power was the ability to open the portal to an odd dimension which remained untouched by human feet until Holger’s family settled in there. The whole dimension consists of a single tropical island with strange exotic plants and animals not seen anywhere in our world. When Holger was 6, his father who was accused of a murder to avoid prison took the whole family to this place. For the next several years the boy lived in there, abused every day, slowly forgetting about the world he left behind him.

For years every day of his life looked the same… until his mutation activated and everything changed. Holger Hirsch is an unfortunate mutant. The X-Gene gave him a shadow which got sentience after the boy’s mutation manifested itself. The very first thing the shadow or maybe rather Shadow did after it got sentience and consciousness was committing a brutal rape on its owner followed by setting the island on fire. Holger was the only one who survived.

Shadow is intelligent but its nature is everything but friendly. It is able to change its shape or even leave its owner’s body for some time whenever it wants. And when it does, it almost always happens so because Shadow is going to pursue some evil goal. Actually, we could say it’s Shadow who has powers because Holger himself shows no sign of any supernatural abilities; it’s his shadow which possesses limited pyro- and telekinesis and the ability to go through solid surfaces like walls as well. When separated from its owner, Shadow has a form of a grey humanoid the only visible features of face of whom are big, all black eyes and maliciously smiling, wide mouth. Now, when his father is dead, Holger is trapped in the island dimension but his shadow doesn’t find entering the real world any problem, it can do it with ease and every time when Shadow comes back from its escapades to our world, it informs the boy with malicious satisfaction about evil deeds committed by it in there, leaving Holger with pricks of conscience – he feels guilty because it was, after all he who called Shadow into being. Shadow loves malicious pranks made to people to upset them, not only to people it encountered in our world but also to its owner (hmm, who is the owner here and who is the property, we should ask ourselves first). After the first rape, Shadow punished Holger in this way many times to remind him he’s only a teenage boy with no power, that he’s its property and it can do everything it wants to him. From time to time though Shadow is able to behave in quite a friendly manner. The teen has no power over his evil shadow and can’t control it.

Recently a new change took place in Holger’s sad life filled with loneliness, boredom and physical and emotional abuse. Not knowing about this, the boy is a distant relative of no one else but The Shadow King himself. The Shadow King being born many centuries ago as a telepathic mutant who after his physical body’s death started to live on the astral plane possessing other people’s bodies from time to time, as a mortal man had children one of whom in turn became a distant ancestor of the young mutant. The telepathic mutant contacted the boy, making a promise he’d help him get rid of Shadow if the boy joined him. The teen accepted the proposition. For all his life he was treated as someone’s property – his abusive father’s, his shadow’s and now the Shadow King’s. If following orders of The Shadow King means in spite of remaining a slave of his evil ancestor he’ll be able to run away from his tormentor, Holger will do everything, regardless of what he’ll be ordered to do.

I've got a few I could post, designed for a book I'm writingish but out of that I have a few kind of mutant characters, they are from a universe with superhumans known as superiors, basically similar to X-Men as the next stage of evolution, I might as well post on :P

As with X-Men I have a classification, it goes level 1-5, level gamma to alpha, then level delta, epsilon, theta and omega.

Name: Vincent Madors
Alias: None
Class: Level 5
Occupation: Head of the Imperial Society of Supremes, Self-Proclaimed Future Emperor of Earth
Allegiance: Imperial Society, Seeks to remove all 'normals' from existence
Age: 127
Sex: Male
Location: London, England
Height: 6' 5"
Weight: 210 .lbs
Hair: Dark Brown
Eyes: Oceanic Blue
Skin: Pale Whitish
Powers: Superhuman Strength, Superhuman Intellect and Massive Cellular Regeneration

Vincent is the leader of the Imperial Society of Supremes, an organisation he created for the specific task of removing all 'normals' from existence, along with his own super powered army. He was born on the 5th of April, 1883 to a poor family, and he grew up always seeking to become 'superior' as he thought of it. He was incredibly gifted in science, able to work at a level so great that he could understand concepts, such as genetics, far beyond his time, however, due to his social standing he was never granted the chance to reach higher learning and so had to learn by his own observational techniques, which included using his own blood as a test-medium. He noticed that no matter how deep he made the wound, it would always seal, never leaving even a mark of the blade, which intrigued him deeply, he practiced such experiments for many years, until his parents died from illness and he was forced onto the street.

Now 21, he was capable of surviving by himself, but due to a lack of financial influence, could not seem to gain any form of job, especially due to his social status. So he became a highwayman, using intelligently designed traps and tricks to wrangle the money from the rich, without harming them, and filling his pockets nicely. It was on one such occasion however that his entire plan fell apart, when one man drew a revolver, and fired directly through his chest, piercing his left lung and impaling his heart with the molten round. Strangely, the bullet seemed to force itself from the wound, and as it left, the hole sealed itself up, causing the man with the gun to recoil in horror. Vincent felt a deep strength pulsating from his body, and without second thought, charged at the shooter, fist clenched, and swung it at his face like a battering ram. It smashed through his skull, causing instant brain death, and pierced out the other side, causing the lifeless corpse to hang upon his now blooded arm. Vincent dropped the body, and immediately his desires had come to fruition, he had gained his superiority, and had already decided that to survive, he must find others with superiority also.

In 1918, he opened his own Society, now with a few allies of lesser power than himself, although capable men and women. He used such a society to procure rare valuables in robberies and thefts, eventually gaining himself a large fortune, granting him the influence he needed to locate many others such as himself, to form his army. Now in 2009, he has developed his army into the thousands, all across the globe, preparing for the day where his army rides out, to decimate the world of mankind, and claim it in the name of Homo Superior.

Power Breakdown:
Super Strength- Vincent possess a vast degree of superhuman strength, and with it, a certain degree of superhuman durability as well. He is capable of lifting a car easily above his head with a single hand, and capable of punching through solid rock with little flesh damage.

Super Intelligence - Vincent's IQ is 645, far higher than the highest ever recorded. He is capable of working out complex mathematical formulae with ease and has the capability to understand and rationalise very difficult concepts that are far beyond his time.

Massive Cellular Regeneration - Vincent is 127 years old, yet looks around his mid 20s. This is largely due to his vast regenerative capabilities, using which he has survived everything from massive cerebral injury, being attack by a Tiger I tank, having a 30mm Chain Gun unloaded into his chest and surviving a nuclear explosion, after each he may look like death itself, but within mere seconds the flesh untangles itself in grotesque fashion, and brings him back to full fighting order.

End

Hope ya like it lol, he's out of about 50+ characters in my Ascended Fiction Universe (The Homo Superiors)
However I also have a universe with a vast number of alien species, I can add a few heroes/villains from their, but they take even longer because the stories for them are huge :P

Name: Martha Mellington
Mutant name: Creator
Classification: Omega mutant
Occupation: Writer
Age: 63
Sex: Female
Location: Rotorua, New Zealand
Ethnicity: White (European New Zealander of British ancestry)
Height: 162 cm
Weight: 78 kg
Hair: Once dark, later on in life prematurely grey(slightly wavy, cut at half the length of neck)
Eyes: Blue
Skin: Slightly tanned complexion with rosy cheeks
Powers: Ability to create whole pocket dimensions by writing about them.

Even among the most powerful representatives of the homo superior species, an extent of power of some of them makes them the crème de la crème among those endowed with unimaginable power by the X-Gene. Young Franklin Richards was claimed to possess the power equal to that of the Celestials but Martha Mellington although unknown to anybody also possessed the ability to build whole worlds by the very power of her vivid imagination. Martha, stricken with multiple sclerosis in her early childhood and confined to a wheelchair was a very prolific writer for whom writing was an escape from the world in which she was disabled and unable to perform many tasks ordinary for healthy people due to her illness. Having her first novel published when she was still in her teens, Martha was a very popular s-f writer having many fans all over the world. Neither they nor herself though realized in her case writing was an act of creation in the most literal sense of this word – characters that came into existence on the pages of her books really existed. The moment the woman started to commit her stories to paper became the beginning of a pocket dimension in which her characters lived their life not suspecting they could be something else than real people of flesh and blood. For them it was like those dimensions existed from the very beginning of eternity - they had their own, long and rich history as if they were real. Martha’s most famous novel series was about fictional mutants – people with an additional gene which gave them super powers. They called themselves the X-Men and the name of the mysterious gene was the X-Gene. Obviously it was a fictional story but Martha didn’t know that in her own world some people indeed had a gene which made it possible for them to do things impossible for normal people and that, ironically she was one of them. If Martha and those few others like her lived in the world of her novels, they’d be called the owners of the X-Gene.

Martha’s deteriorating health had an impact on numerous universes the creator of which she unknowingly was. Worlds created by her were shaking, suddenly afflicted by natural disasters, earthquakes, their stars were slowly dying; their inhabitants suffered from strange diseases. People and other beings prayed to their gods who never answered. Nobody, regardless of in what they believed would be ever able to guess that their true God was some benign elderly woman in her wheelchair; strong and smart but not less ordinary than they were and that the very center of the universe was her living room where she wrote her books. Martha herself being rather a religious person would find those thoughts of them blasphemous anyway if she only knew. Her death at age 63 was the ultimate end of all dimensions created by her, the moment of their ultimate collapse. One taking an interdimensional trip would find in there planets once being homeworlds of alien races Martha wrote about now being only burned lifeless crusts. Nobody ever knew Martha Mellington as someone more than a popular s-f writer.

Name: Ghedi
Mutant name: Body Snatcher
Classification: Gamma mutant
Age: 97
Sex: Doesn't apply
Location: Somalia
Weight, height, hair, eyes: Doesn't apply
Powers: Possession, unique physiology

When it comes to describing Ghedi, even such a basic issue like its gender is impossible to state. In its natural form our mutant is a gooey, half liquid, iridescent black limp which would be contained by a bucket if you are curious what's the size of it.

Ghedi came into the world in a nomadic tribe in Somalia in 1912. When its mother saw the abomination she gave birth to, she abandoned it in a desert to die. The inhuman baby survived though. It's technically a human being, human being with the X-Gene which made it this way but its looks and way of processing information by its brain make it practically, we could say a representative of a different species. Body Snatcher possesses almost exclusively instincts pushing it towards survival, the only feelings in their very rudimentary form it is able to experience from time to time are fear, bliss and sadness but they are only pale ghosts of the feelings other people can feel. In its natural form it's semi sentient, endowed with some dose of intelligence of predator taking care only of its survival. Ghedi absorbs food – usually small animals like lizards and worms with the whole surface of body.

Body Snatcher lives in desert where it usually spends time laying motionlessly, waiting for food... and human victims. It's another aspect of its mutation – the ability to possess people. For as long as it is touching their bodies, it has full control over them, gaining access to their thoughts. It's usually wrapped around their waist. People possessed by Body Snatcher aren't aware what's happening to them but from time to time some of them get consciousness and try to scream for help. Body Snatcher doesn't have a personality on its own but while in control of its victims it adopts their personality traits for as long as it is there but when it leaves them, they quickly vanish, as same as those people's memories. While possessing people Ghedi's instincts get sharper and it's able to think much clearer, it becomes much more self-aware than ever but its thought processes are still based mostly on instinct itself. It experiences desires which can be called approximately human only when it's in control of a victim which can last two weeks with no pause at best. It can pretend an ordinary but very taciturn human without being unmasked with ease.

Ghedi is a male Somali name which means literally "traveler". It's a name it likes to assume when it takes on a male form. Body Snatcher is a traveler looking for new victims to experience new pleasures in their bodies. All signs show the unusual parasite's career as a body thief is going to last many years if we take into consideration that Ghedi in spite of being 97 doesn't show any signs of getting old.

Name: Maksym Kovalenko
Mutant name: Untouchable
Classification: Beta mutant
Location: Prypiat, Ukraine
Age: 43
Sex: Male
Ethnicity: Caucasian/Ukrainian
Height: 180 cm
Weight: 128 kg
Hair: Brown, straight (he's getting bald)
Eyes: Grey
Skin: Pale complexion

Powers: Super dodging – he possesses some kind of invisible psychic sensory field surrounding him all the time (impossible to turn off which in turn makes him only a beta mutant although obviously it doesn't impair him in any reasonable way – well, and what if he ever needed a surgery...). When something potentially harmful enters the field, his body automatically reacts to avoid it.

In the eyes of the world, Maksym Kovalenko was only an obese, not particularly smart loser, earning his living by lowly paid clerical work and in his spare time watching TV and reading comic books about superheroes. Meek and shy, henpecked by wife Maksym often dreamed about being someone more than only a boring comic book geek. In his dreams he saw himself as a commanding respect alpha male. There was still one thing that distinguished him from other middle aged couch potatoes with low self esteem and Xantippa's veritable successor for a wife – unknown to anybody, Kovalenko was a mutant. Every time in the very moment when something potentially harmful – from toxins, radiation and poisons to any solid substance was about to enter his body, invisible field surrounding his body activated, pushing it back. For example the only effect of drinking a cup of tea containing a poison would be tea getting to his stomach while the poison would remain on the walls of the cup not hurting him in any way. Maksym knew he was only an ordinary man and hated it with his all heart. Even his powers although as he had to admit, useful were so... usual, nothing to show off – useful but not very striking which only increased the level of his frustration. What is more, Kovalenko never being characterized by especially high intelligence allowing him to form opinions on his own, let himself believe in what the whole rest of the world seemed to believe – that as a mutant he was someone worse than an ordinary human. He had paranoia that one day his secret could be discovered by others, in the same time secretly envying other mutants' much cooler powers.

Entering the mid-life crisis was a turning point in his life. Kovalenko made a decision to change it for the better. Leaving his bitchy wife and spoiled children who didn't show him any respect and for whom he was only a loser and not devoting a thought to his coworkers knowing him only as a boring fatso never having anything interesting to say, Maksym changed his place of living. Protected by his power from lethal doses of radiation which in the end would result in his long and painful death, Kovalenko settled in deserted Prypiat, living in abandoned buildings. At nights, he observes stars from the roofs of them, in the day time he likes to walk the ghost town, dropping in houses and stores the wild nature has slowly started to take over. He likes being alone, doing whatever he wants, free from mocking voices of people from his past he left behind and happy at last. He rarely leaves the town to get food, preferring to kill stray cats and dogs that went astray in there, believing getting food on his own makes him more macho – like a hunter in the jungle who has to take care of his needs on his own.

On that last one, there was actually a mutant named "Unus the Untouchable" who could sort of make a barrier that no one could break through.

I forgot about that character but now I remember there was such a guy indeed. Do you have any original characters you’d like to share with us? :)

All right, here's my attempt:

Name: Naomi Greene
Mutant Name: Warp
Classification: Alpha mutant
Occupation: Student
Allegiance: X-men
Age: 18
Sex: Female
Hometown: Los Angeles
Height: 5' 5''
Weight: 122 pounds
Hair: Long, straight, medium brown
Eyes: Blue
Skin: White, fairly tanned

Powers: Time travel

Story:

Naomi discovered her power at age 14 when she accidentally traveled an hour into the future and someone asked her why she had missed her last class, which she did not remember skipping. She soon learned to control her power so that she could choose when to use it and when and where to end up. The limitation on her time travel is that alone, she can only visit places and times she has been to or will go to. When close to or touching another person, she can link to them and travel to any moment in that person's life. It is actually possible for her to travel to a time/place far from where she or the other person has been, in fact she must do this or else she will end up in the exact same spot at the same time. However, the larger the gap in time or space, the more effort it takes. She is currently unable to travel through time with another person and does not know if this will ever be possible. Naomi has done a fairly good job of keeping her ability secret. However, she decided to tell her best friend Katrina, which did not turn out so well. Katrina was strongly anti-mutant and did not change her stance upon hearing Naomi was a mutant. She does not talk to Naomi anymore. A few months later Naomi was invited to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Due to her friendly personality, she quickly felt at home there and befriended some of the other mutants, but she felt awkward around the ones who were less human in appearance and tried to avoid them as much as she could. Naomi soon became one of the main members of the X-men, joining them on missions frequently. She really enjoyed this, since she had always loved superheroes and now could go on adventures of her own. Some practical uses of her power in battle include warping a second or two into the future to dodge an enemy's attack or strike them from behind, and later traveling backwards to create a second version of herself to assist in the fight. Naomi is skilled at martial arts and also carries a "stun gun" she acquired from the 2030s. She has never killed anyone before and hopes she will never have to.

Name: Moswen Badawi
Codename: Ugly Truth
Classification: Alpha mutant
Age: 34 (she looks 10 years older than she really is)
Sex: Female
Location: Alexandria, Egypt
Height: 157 cm
Weight: 53 kg
Hair: Black, straight, long
Eyes: Dark brown, almond shaped, covered with thick, horn rimmed glasses
Skin: Café-au-Lait complexion

Powers: Omniscience. Every time when questioned, regardless of importance of the touched issue and the field the question is from, Moswen always says the truth. Even when she had no knowledge of the answer before she was asked, this answer – always a right answer – just pops into her head as if she just read it on a screen which only she was able to see. Obviously she is able to lie if saying the truth would be too dangerous.
Personality: Rough conditions of life she had to face since childhood made her a harsh toke. She’s practical and down-to-earth. Moswen can be described as masculine in terms of behavior as well as her physical appearance.

Moswen had a hard life. While in practice her origin makes her a descendant of pharaohs, in the time she was born nobody obviously could remember her family’s once glorious past. It was in her preteenage years when she realized that when questioned, she ALWAYS knew the answer even if logically thinking there was no chance she could ever know it. This unusual power of hers worked only if it was another person who asked her a question, when young Moswen tried to ask herself about various things she wasn’t able to find the answer. After her first husband’s death she became homeless and was so for the next several years. One day when she was begging for money some stranger started a conversation with her. He was a depressed businessman whose firm was having severe financial problems who wanted to talk with someone about this even if it was only a homeless woman who couldn’t have any knowledge of running a firm – before she became homeless, Moswen was just a simple woman, a cleaning lady with no education nor intellectual ambitions. Listening to the man’s sad “And what should I do now”, Moswen realized suddenly that answers started to form in her head. The shocked man having heard her detailed pieces of advice on how to improve the financial condition of his firm came to the conclusion that homeless woman was holding a key to his better future if only he was sensible enough to follow her advice. After several experiments with asking questions Moswen couldn’t know answers for, the businessman realized what he should do. Realizing she’s a mutant, he took her home, introducing her to the world she never knew before, the world full of luxury and sophistication. Their marriage which took place very soon was a typical marriage of convenience: Moswen’s husband gives her money and a roof over her head while her only duty is answering his questions what to do to give his firm the status of the most powerful financial empire in the world. Moswen herself being only a simple woman takes a great pleasure in luxury which her husband gives her and which she never had in her previous life. She doesn’t even realize her amazing ability would serve the world much better if she was found out not by a greedy businessman but by scientists trying to discover the biggest secrets of the universe.

NAME: Lerma Tela

MUTANT NAME: Leper

CLASSIFICATION: Delta mutant

RACE/ETHNICITY: Asian

AGE: 54

SEX: Female

HAIR: Black, straight, neck length

EYES: Dark brown

SKIN: Very pale, covered with a net of numerous dark red nerves, in several places visibly damaged and disfigured by her disease

HEIGHT: 162 cm

WEIGHT: 64 kg

LOCATION: Originally Culion Island, Philippines, now Washington, USA

POWERS: Every inch of Leper’s body (which would be extremely pale even for a representative of the Caucasian race although not chalk white) is covered with something like a delicate net of numerous visible dark red thick blood vessels. These aren’t blood vessels as it seems at first sight though but Lerma’s evolved nerves and taste buds thanks to which the woman is able to see, hear, smell and taste with the whole surface of her body. Also her sense of touch is much more sensitive than in ordinary people. All her senses are extremely sharp. Lerma Tela has very good intuition which could be easily mistaken for another power she possess but the truth is she has only a standard set of five ordinary senses which combined together make her experience reality on quite a different, higher level than it takes place in case of normal people, her amazing intuition is the result of experiencing all bodily sensations mixed with each other on the level of subconsciousness as Leper doesn’t concentrate on particular sensations she experiences – she realizes them obviously but they’re simply somewhere in the background. An average person probably would end up insane flooded by such strong sensations felt by the whole surface of skin but Lerma’s brain is wired differently, it has some special sort of adaptation for her mutation so the woman isn’t bothered by them.

POWERS UNRELATED TO MUTATION: As the result of being infected with Hansen’s disease in early youth, Lerma Tela is able to communicate mentally with the bacteria Mycobacterium leprae and Mycobacterium lepromatosis in her own organism and organisms of other people suffering from the same disease if only they are within close proximity. It’s possible thanks to her X-Gene – the bacteria getting into her body, somehow mutated themselves.

PHYSICAL APEARANCE: The main difference (but for her unusual skin) between her and an average American woman of the twenty first century consists in the fact that some of her fingers and toes are severely disfigured or even amputated as a result of her disease’s symptoms. Also her face shows some signs of leprosy she’s infected with; when she goes out she always covers it with a silk scarf.

PERSONALITY: When it comes to her personality, Leper is your average Asian American woman; warm, calm and positively disposed towards people she wants to protect. She willingly helps others deal with their problems. She’s distrustful about people she doesn’t know well because she’s aware of how she looks like, embarrassed with her disfigured body. She’s generally liked though, her neighbors don’t pay attention to her disfigured looks and being a mutant.

AFFILIATION: None. She knows she’s the only person able to protect the world from her son. She doesn’t trust other people in this respect.

STORY: Leper’s story started in a secluded leper colony on Cullion Island, Philippines where she was born. The girl, raised by her parents and other members of this small community who couldn’t live in society due to their bodily deformities, although not infected with leprosy herself was visibly different from birth which didn’t bother anybody. She felt accepted, safe and protected in there, she was one of them. When Lerma reached her teens, she attempted to escape from there to see the world which ended in her being caught and brought back pretty soon. Small isolated communities have their little dark secrets, one of them is that either you are with us or against us. People about whom the girl thought that they were her friends and family showed her their real faces which weren’t as friendly as she dared to think. They infected her with their disease to make sure that, deformed and ill as they were, she’d stay with them forever.

When the first symptoms of Hansen disease appeared, the teen took another attempt of escape. Despite her calm disposition, one night Lerma set the colony on fire to take revenge for her whole suffering, running away for the second time only to be found by the doctors who knew her as the mutant resident of the colony of lepers they used to arrive in twice a week to help the ill. She was able to deceive them that the fire started so suddenly that she was the only one to survive. She was taken care by them. She was sent to an orphanage where she lived for several months until she was adopted by a couple of American scientists who worked with mutants trying to examine their DNA and taken to the United States with them.

Medicines inhibited her disease progression but something completely unexpected took place. Lerma realized that thanks to her mutated physiology the leprosy bacteria in her mutant body somehow… mutated too. Sensations she was able to experience since her earliest childhood with the whole surface of body grew much stronger, now she could also experience them synaesthetically. The teen discovered she was also capable of mental communication with the leprosy bacteria in her and other people within close proximity – they weren’t exactly self aware, they possessed some primitive intelligence though, fueled by their desire to reproduce, their ultimate aim was to infect others. It’s how bacteria and viruses “perceive” the world.

Leper despite her looks was able to get some friends who didn’t care she was “a filthy mutie” as some prejudiced people called her, especially back then, when prejudice and hatred towards others of her kind was more intense. She even managed to find a boyfriend who was killed in a car accident soon after she discovered she was pregnant. She decided to give birth and keep the baby as a single mother though. Several months later Lerma gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. The child developed normally like all children and it seemed everything was going to be fine – an ordinary small family of Philippine origin living in the suburbs of Washington not bothered by anybody. Until the common fate of many mutant parents reached her one day. Not all mutations are so wonderful and the Telas turned out to be one of those who had an occasion to find out this sad truth. Young Adam was only 12 when his boyish body started to show first signs of process which could be called nothing but a physical decomposition. It was like the fatal disease his mother was infected with suddenly activated, making his body disintegrate with which doctors couldn’t do anything – they could only inform the shocked family the boy inherited his mom’s X-Gene and his mysterious illness killing him was the way in which its presence manifested. Finally Adam’s melting body was reduced to a minute, bacterium-sized entity impossible to observe with a naked eye. His mother though remained the only one who could still communicate with him. It was her disease with which she lived since early youth, disease which made it possible.

Thanks to it the woman possessed an additional ability to contact the leprosy bacteria… and now her own son became one himself when the process of his mutating into a different form got completed. Adam Tela’s real form is this of a living bacterium resembling Mycobacterium Leprae most , unable to survive on its own but requiring a host. It’s not only his physical appearance but also his mind that took another form. The bacterium-like mutant thinks like bacteria do – he’s pushed almost exclusively by instincts although he still has human intelligence he had before his body started to go through this amazing change. Lerma herself often felt like an alien from another planet among normal people but her son living inside her body now, despite his obviously earthly origin IS one even for standards of mutants. He’s basically an alien entity not resembling in anything this nice preteen boy he was years ago. He’s truly inhuman and sometimes even his own mother is afraid of him – not because he’s evil (he isn’t) but because his way of thinking, paths of logic he follows now are so completely different from humans’. Selfish as all bacteria are, he’s pushed by the instinct to reproduce. One of those very few human feelings Adam still has is his love for his mother… but even this feeling is diametrally different than what we’d expect from a human, it’s very selfish. Adam is very angry with all people who made his mother he loves so much suffer by infecting her with their disease and later not accepting her fully as one of them. Those who ever made her suffer in the past must suffer too. Adam takes numerous attempts to control his mother’s body (that’s what he is limited to: he can’t control minds of those whose bodies serve him as his hosts, only their bodies; his ability allows him also to communicate with all bacteria and viruses) to force her to infect as many people as she can as a revenge for the whole humankind. But that’s the last thing Lerma herself wants. She’s scared one day her only child may take control over her and her fear isn’t exaggerated, believe me. Lerma’s son’s powers let him communicate with all kinds of bacteria and viruses which he uses to make his mother follow his will. He knows – but now as selfish as all bacteria are - doesn’t care that his attempts to make Lerma do what he wants hurt her not only emotionally but also physically, slowly and painfully killing her. The leprosy bacteria in her which he controls ravage her body which is getting more and more inhuman and malformed. And her superhuman sense of touch only makes the pain she experiences much stronger, more horrible, making her think she’s living in hell on Earth. Lerma wants to commit suicide but she knows well after her death her son may find a new ill host making them follow his orders to spread their disease because that’s what bacteria do as binary fission is their fate and their ultimate aim is to reproduce.
