I am slowly working on teaching myself.

watashi wa Nihongo no gakusei desu... but then I dropped the course because I couldn't pick it up fast enough, and I wasn't learning Hirigana fast enough.... TY dyslexia...

sorry to hear that... I'm not so good at learning either :s

As for "misswoofalot" i only use the nintendo ds game called "my japanese coach" it teaches somewhat everything (the 1945 kanjis that you should know are included) though its hard because you need to figure out alot by yourself, i'd recommen to buy it and try it, it can be a handy thing ^^. As for fast kanji learning, i've heard good things about "remembering the kanji" seems like a very good book to me. Just find a basic patern, like learning 5 words a day. And once in a while repeat things (unless you're one of those smart people)

I think that Japanese is one of the most beautiful sounding languages in the world.

I'm not sure I'd say Japanese sounds very beautiful, but it's phonetics are very elegant.

I love almost everything about Japanese culture; I've actually considered moving to Japan at some time in the future.

One of the things I plan to do very soon is start learning Japanese.

You guys are awesome; I practically live and breathe Final Fantasy. Still think the FF series has the greatest storylines and music of all time; was a large influence towards my affinity for Japanese culture.

I know bits and pieces of the spoken language and I can recognize some hiragana and katakana. I'm planning on getting my GED sometime before or during the summer so that I can take Japanese in college.
