My first idea was the basic barricade and gun combo... But then I had a really cool idea! Get loads of honey, and blood, squirt it at the zombies. This would attract flies, and other animals. They would all start to eat the zombies, and the zombies would have been weakened considerably. I will then be able to stab them in the neck, and kill them, as their eyes would be all eaten and rotten from the flies, and the fact that they are dead. I would kill all the ones on my estate, then loot the houses and steel lots of supplies, construct a tree house thing on my roof, fill it with supplies, and wait it out. Failing that I would just wipe them all out with my evil hamster:Erik (he is so fat and angry I am actually scared of him sometimes) OR... If I was in America, in a gun shop, I'd go in style, with a huge resident evil style shoot out  and basically have a great time killing zombies until they ate me, I'd get high on coffee and pain killers so I didn't feel anything though.

Ahaha, can I quote you on that?
Well, I guess all my plans to survive a zombie invasion are now shot. :? I guess the one effective thing I could do would be to have vibratetogether with me, haha.

I was over at the school I mentioned the other day, and I feel quite confident I could hold out there for quite a while...I mean, as long as greedy survivors don't ruin it for everyone, which is pretty much going to screw you in any life-or-death situation. We found a really easy way into the building, and almost the entire place is surrounded by fence. Plenty of land to plant crops, the fences would need to be fortified to keep rabbits out though.

And it's been closed for a while, so you're not likely to get the "they don't know why they still come here" effect like in Dawn of the Dead (1978) ;) Hmm...not sure what to do about lighting conditions...short of punching holes in the roof, it'd be pitch black inside. In Dawn, they really had it made with those big skylights.

One block away is a hospital, a convenience store two houses away in a different direction, WalMart/Sam's Club/etc. about two blocks away.

Would be much easier if this were an I Am Legend* situation with vampires instead of zombies, so supplies could be gathered and work could be done during the daylight hours. Though those vampires are much more persistant, loud, and a whole lot faster and smarter, and resisting the virus would be near impossible.

*not to be confused with the Will Smith movie of the same name

What's that stuff again, that you use to help prevent biting your nails?

I'd at least douse myself in that so I wouldn't taste any good. I'm not going to let them enjoy killing me!

After that, I have no idea. I still have a lot to learn:(
Let me ponder this for a moment....

btw. for those being all YEAH GUNNNNS YEAHHH BAMBAMBAM

aren't zombies already dead? How would guns be able to kill/stop them?
Unless you'd find a way to shoot efficiently and dismember each and every zombie (so they wouldn't have arms nor legs and wouldn't be able to move)...

Perhaps if you load the guns with something that can dissolve flesh?

*ponder ponder*

mine are pretty much the same as in shaun of the dead: pick up freidns, pick up love of your life, if possible pick up family, maybe get some additional firepower. head to your favorite bar (my fav bar is a metalbar and it's loaded with maces, swords shields axes whatever) bar the door, chill out. and if all else fails..........i might just consider joining the zombies :P

I'm not the only one who discusses zombie apocalypse with their friend(s)? Neato. I feel less like a freak now.

As for my survival plans, I haven't a clue.
They mostly involve....
1) Hope to god (or whoever) that I am not in this stinking city at the time and
2) Hope to god (or whoever) that I am with my friend, preferably in her home town, or the other hill town I/we know of. Friend = more chance of survival (especially if her bro is still around and helps us, though I sort of doubt it.). Hill town(s) = greater chance of survival because less population. Less population is good, less zombies. Also less survivors around to fu** around with. Some would think that it'd be good to have fellow survivors around, but no, it isn't. More survivors = less food and weapon supply. Not to mention the paranoid and/or crazy and/or sociopaths-in-hiding would have a field day shooting down their fellow non-zombies.
3) Hope to god (or whoever) that these zombies are easily recognized, not too intelligent, and don't have any super powers.
4) Don't go to / bunker in a mall! I've learned my lesson from Dead Rising. Mall = bad.
5) Blame the (USA) government. Not crucial to surviving, but we all know it's the most likely cause of zombies. Plus it'll make me a little angry, which might make my will to survive / mental danger alerts more sharp.

It depends on what kind of zombies they are.

If they're like George Romero's zombies (which Resident Evil is inspired by), all you need to do is damage the brain. Doesn't seem to matter if it's with a gun, crowbar, shovel, knife, screwdriver, etc. They suggest burning the corpses afterwards, but it doesn't seem to be necessary.

If they're like Return of the Living Dead (or Quake), then we're prettymuch screwed, and the only option is what you said, blowing/chopping them up into little pieces.

28 Days Later zombies (which L4D seems to be heavily influenced by) go down easy enough, but they're fast, and you have to be careful not to get any blood on you.

But then what do we do if PETA style organizations pop up, claiming that zombies have rights too, and that we aren't allowed to kill them??? @_@

Which reminds me of I Am Legend (vampires, not zombies, but similar principal). He was only able to figure out a few ways to kill them...either expose them to direct sunlight (unless...well...I won't spoil it) or put a stake through them. Or...I wish there was a way to post spoilers here...maybe if I just made the text really tiny...or I guess you'll just have to read the book for yourself ;)

A prison would be a good place to go, given the virus hadn't gotten inside, or they'd released everyone due to the virus.

You've gotta think long-term when finding a safe place to hide from zombies. Prisons are self-sufficient. No necessity would run dry for years, and it would be impossible for any zombie to get to you.

I like the games they play on the rooftops in Dawn of the Dead. Like the one where they spot zombie celebrity look-a-likes and shoot them. THAT would be fun.

Don't like zombies. When I am losing at resident evil. I have to chuck the controls down and hide and screem like a little school girl. I don't like the way they crowd me and move slowly. I prefer fast moving vampiers instead.

Wait isn't that just a couple of girls cosplaying Haruhi, well I guess you could always pray to the almighty Haruhi if such an event happend.
Well I guess a good idea if dumb and slow is to get a group, weapons and organise, think of a place better then a pub and if maybe test out the strategy of acting Zombie can fool the undead. Other then that maybe going someplace no one like to go as zombies hang around familiar areas, like a dentist or Tasmania.
Here is the RvB Zombie plan video.
