Father's side- His father was a doctor in the Swiss Army. By the time my father was in the University of Lausanne, he was training for motorcycling in the Swiss Army. His brother was training for truck driving in the Army and is now a teacher to other Army truck drivers. His son is currently training in his footsteps.

Mother's side- Her parents were refugees; they were living in Hungary when the Communist revolution struck their hometown. They escaped by night hiding in the brushes and finally hopping on a train for Switzerland. They've been legal residents since my mother's birth. This is the only side of the family where most have left the country (my mother here in America, her sister in Sydney, Australia)

Father's side I know nothing about

Mother's side, well her, my auntie, and my grandma are from Berwick-upon-Tweed, a town that has been in both the hands of the english and scottish that many times I consider me to be a bit of both English and Scottish :)

And that's all I know

My greatgrandparents on my father's side were extra-terrestrials, but they were biologically compatible with earth-native humans. So I am one quarter alien, non-terrestrial.

My dad's family is Irish. The immigrated to the states some time around 1850. They lived in South Boston, and owned a pub. My great-uncle still owns it. My grandpa moved here to CA when he was 18 and married my grandma, who is mostly Irish, but with some English blood.

My mom's background is a little more mixed. Her dad is Greek, he moved here when he was 15. I'm eligible for Greek citizenship if I want it. My grandma is of Russian and Ukrainian descent, but grew up in England.

My father's father's family came to the American colonies around 1720. They were from Scotland, and had been in the army of Bonnie Prince Charlie, a Scottish prince who rebelled against English rule. Charlie was hanged and most of his men were shipped to America. My ancestors followed Daniel Boone into Kentucky and then settled around Fort Smith, Arkansas. If you have the misfortune to patronize a Wal Mart in the chain's headquarters in Bentonville, most of the employees will likely be related to me. Part of the family settled in Los Angeles just before the Dust Bowl hit hard. My father's mother had a Swiss-German father who arrived in 1903, and we don't know much about her mom, who died of tuberculosis when grandma was a baby.

My mom's family is full of mystery. My grandmother's mother was Czech, born in 1904 just after the family had won the right to settle in America. Grandma's dad is listed as F. S. (redacted by me), but he abandoned the family when my grandmother was about 8 and vanished. My grandpa's mom was German. We don't know who his father was. The birth certificate lists a man who was almost certainly not the father. There are rumors that the father was a wealthy Jew, possibly a mobster or had mob ties, and that my grandpa's mom was paid handsomely to move to California and keep her mouth shut. She had six kids by six men, she was more a woman who should have been young today rather than in the 20s, she was quite promiscuous.

I briefly dated a young woman who said she had vampire ancestry. She had a real phobia of blood, because she worried that if she tasted it it would set off those genes.

depends how far back you want to go :p

on mothers side- half Jewish mix, half "local" - there's an ethnic minority where I live (majority here, minority in the whole country) called Kashubians who are basically a mix of all the influences that there had been round here throughout centuries.

then on fathers side- half true mainland Polish, big military clan (now almost extinct :P), other half Prussian (that means German btw).

so going back 3 generations on both sides most of my ancestors were German-speaking. going back a few dozen generations on my fathers' fathers side (as in the family name) there's a whole line of reckless self-destructive military types, partly responsible for all the hopeless little wars and uprisings that this part of Europe have seen throughout it's history. pretty typical here.

Unfortunetely I suffer from what a lotta american kids do and have lost most of the history of family pre-imigration.

My father's family is from northern Greece, my grandpa passed away when my dad was still a child, and his mom a few years after that, so my dad never got a chance to learn much other than bits from distant family.

It's similar with my mom, from Sicily, grandma on that side passed away when my mom was young and my mom didnt speak to her father after that (and thats a whole skeleton closet in itself =P)

Grandparents from both my mom and dad came over during WW1, through elis island. Parents were first generation.

My mothers mothers side of the family is from England. They sailed to New Zealand in the late 1800's. My mothers fathers side is from Poland and I'm not sure when they moved to NZ, I can't find any records.
My fathers mothers side is again from England. My fathers fathers side were initially NZ natives (Maori) but for generations people on that side of the family have been white due to no more inter-racial relationships.

Apparently, my great great great great grandmother (on my mothers mothers side) out-lived all four of her husbands & had 13 children! I don't know about the jobs that my historic family had, but I know that that same great great great great grandmother inheritted a lot of money & that's how she came to NZ with her 12 kids (one died)...& she married again.

I guess my ancestors came here from sweden in 1850 or so for the gold rush.

Other than that I'm not too sure.

Let's see here, my mom came from a family which used to live in the fields then came to the city (i never saw my grandfather from that side ever =( died before i could remember him ), and if we check further back, who knows what we'll find, but thankfully with Quebec's civil and religious registries, it's possible to check your ancestry fairly easily (they even recently found out who was responsible for a congenital disease that afflicts most people born in the Saguenay region).

My dad is from France, he came with his family after the war, and decided he liked it there while the rest of his family went back to homeland. My grandfather served during WW2 as a commander of marine infantry and participated in some of the wars around french colonies. My Great grandfather was also in the military and served in WW1 as a general of subdivision (i reckon that's 3 star general, even De Gaulle had 2, not quite sure on the title, need to recheck the french army grades). My grandmother was from rather old noble family, the "De Gourset" (if i recall right), she's still alive, but she has Alzheimer and she's in her high 90s. <.< It's kind of worrying my uncle and dad, since her pension's almost run out >< .

That's about it i guess. =/ No one in my family ever had autistic traits or AS to a high degree. Which makes me think that either i'm somewhat of a mistake, or my AS is environnementally caused.

My Uncle traced the "family history"

Generations of boring small farmers.

One of my ancestors was on the Mayflower but only as a servant girl.

Alas, no Dukes or Kings.

I'm black, but I know that I have European lineage. On my father's side, my great grea great grandfather was an Englishman. He lived in Barbados. On my mother's side, the European lineage comes from Scotland.

Of course a good amount of my ancestry comes from Africa. The region of Africa is unknown, and it would be difficult to find out.

My father's family is from Barbados, and my mother's family is from Jmaica.
