Achluophobia- Fear of darkness. (A little bit, very minor, but sometimes.. )
Arsonphobia- Fear of fire. (Since I was a little girl. I often have nightmares about dying in a fire.. I get fairly terrified if I'm close to a flame -- lighters too.)
Catagelophobia- Fear of being ridiculed.
Chemophobia- Fear of chemicals or working with chemicals.
Isopterophobia- Fear of termites, insects that eat wood. (I'm usually OK with bugs and insects, but these types make me really squirmish.)
Mysophobia- Fear of being contaminated with dirt or germs. (this to an extent.)
Pediculophobia- Fear of lice. (Bad experiences, bad experiences..)

Emetophobia - Fear of vomiting. I can't stand it, not one bit. Only when it's happening to me, I don't care if it happens to someone else as long as it's not contagious. If it's contagious, it freaks me out.
Pnigerophobia - Fear of choking. Only watching/hearing other people choking, though. Even on TV! The one choking thing I can tolerate is the episode of Beavis & Butthead called "Choke", because Butthead makes funny faces and non-scary noises when he's choking. ^^

For the most part I've gotten over my fear of fires, creepy-looking old-century toys (seriously those old fashion toy soldiers and Raggedy Ann dolls are creepy looking), silent films (except for "Metropolis" which started this phobia to begin with), seeing my own reflection, and hearing my own voice on audio.

But I still have a phobia of seeing myself in photographs and hearing/seeing myself in video. Ironic cause I was a cast member in a viral sketch comedy show in college. Perhaps seeing and hearing myself in certain sketches (an being appalled at my autistic sounding acting) is what allows this fear to rage on.

Sometimes I fear being alone and in silence but it's become so commonplace for me that I try to deal.

I fear death in many ways but then again I feel like a selfish jerk for having any slight fear of it given the way I live my life.

This is my first post

when i was little I had a fear of large Moths (giant silk moths), especially Luna Moths.
it was'nt a sort of "its going to get me fear" it was more of a visceral, psychological fear,
the eyespots, or patterns on their wings, & the way they flew was what scared me.

its not so bad now, currently they just make me nervous and uncomfortable.

Medium sized flying insects.
Still working on fixing that. Either by incremental exposure sometime, or by exterminating all flies and wasps to the planet.
Probably the former, hopefully the latter.

I guess that doesn't have a major effect on your daily life. You don't come across that many.

My own phobia is a very unsual but far worse one: sandals...
I hate sandals and flip-flops and shoes with peep toes. If it's not closed at the toes I hate them. I don't want to be near them, although it's possibly more a disgust of them than a phobia, but it is pretty bad. I get nervous in small lifts in case someone wearing them tries to get in and I've refused such people entry to them in the past. I won't use public transport during summer months.

I used to have a fear of driving, but now I'm slowly learning how to drive and not freak out at the wheel.

I have a fear/extreme dislike of movie theaters, even though I'm a filmmaker!! I just can't sit there with all those other people and not feel even a hint of anxiety and panic.

I also have a fear of insects, and getting burned by the oven. I never use it alone.

I have a minor fear of heights, and like many people here, some social phobia, but nothing huge. My favorite phobia is paraskavedekatriaphobia, since it's such a cool word.

VORTEX'S , the water kind; I was spooked as a kid when they would drain the 12ft dive pool; you could hear the roar of the vortex a block away.
This along with my mother's account of swimming alone ( at night) and fighting one ; it was an industrial type lake where they drew in water from the bottom.
She couldn't see it , but could hear it as she was at it's periphery . 8O

I am really afraid of hornets, if one buzzes around me I run around squealing.

My cat had a real funny phobia, he used to be afraid of clothes hangers, anytime I showed him one, he would spaz out.

When I was a kid:

Emetophobia- Fear of vomiting.
This also extended to a fear of other people vomiting. If someone said that they felt sick I would always ask..."Are you going to vomit?" and even if they said no I would stay right away from them for at least a day, just in case.

Mottephobia- Fear of moths.
I still have this phobia today and in the summer time it ruins my life because there are moths EVERYWHERE!

Also, when I was 4-7 years old I feared patterns. I wouldn't sit or stand on anything that had a pattern on it. I also feared cotton, like when a piece of it was dangling from my clothes or a patterned chair I would literally gag. I don't know what these phobias are called. Did anyone else have this?

Now the only true phobia I have is of moths.
