yesterday i got tears in my eyes from a stupid commercial. it wasn't the content of the advertisement, it was the fact it was an inspiring theme. i hate that i am so ridiculously emotional.

yeah i get all weepy from noble sacrifices too. but this was just a silly commercial for diapers that included non-traditional maternal experiences (i.e. pregnant at wedding, preemie baby, water birthing, late-life pregnancy, etc).

it's easy to get me emotional, obviously. when i watch HIMYM i cry every time Barney gets romantic with Robin or when he gets sad about his dad and stuff.

i have periodic bawling too, for various reasons.

i haven't watched himym.. but anyways, yea i think the heightened sensitivity can be a blessing for other things, various forms of art for instance but can be a pain sometimes too..

i figure sadness can only help me with the blues, since i've never felt racism or picked cotton etc.. always an upside, well almost always anyways

yeah, i can't make music or art if i am feeling too cheerful so having a certain sensitivity is definitely helpful. do you play and also write blues songs?

Mama let that boy play some rock & roll
Jazz is much too crazy he can play it when he's old
He's too young for the blues he's still inside his first pair of shoes
He's just a baby

(teasing you, heh)

The last time that I cried was at my parent's place after they left to see my sister's family. I get like that between the 23rd and the 27th of each month. I don't really need to spam what happened in my world around this time, last year. I was an expert of doing that last summer.

i did, once upon a time, now i'm too scared to touch my guitar :( because of ocd & mysophobia. ironically the state i'm in now would be ideal for blues.. i sing everyday but not that constructively.
shameless self-promotion here www.myspace.com/thegingerbreadconspiracy << a few rather rushed recordings, but played with enthusiasm and passion & a source of pride nonetheless.. kinda blues rock i guess 100points if you listen and spot the super mario reference

i played in a jazz band too for a short while on bass, i was the keen amateur but learnt fast & a lot from the talent of the group.. -sigh, the good ol' days..
liking those lyrics by the way, normally not keen on lyrics :)

i forget who wrote that song. it's from the 70s or 80s.

my lyrics are in my sig, and my music site is linked on my profile. i'm a n00b, with no musical background, but i decided to do it anyway. i have some OCD tendencies too. doctor wanted me to do CBT, but i didn't qualify as i wasn't technically depressed.

i can't listen to your music from work so i'll listen later tonight. i like your band name. thanks for the link!

(sorry for the derailing, people! i will stop now)

Last time I cried was last week, when I found out my sisters brain tumours had shrunk right back. They were tears of happiness of course :)

my rather crap browser won't let me listen to your songs.. :(

i appreciate your humility but music is for everyone, technical proficiency is nothing without the will to create & share. anyways, i'm not trying to be patronising, just i got told quite often 'that was really good, i couldn't do that' when i played well.. i always argued the point that they could  anyways, i'll shut up now but i have no remorse for derailing the thread as it led to much interestingness :)

re cbt i'm getting it currently without depression, i am depressed but only because of ocd.
i will stop talking, right about...

Today. I seem to be going through a tearful phase. Maybe it's the humidity.

2/3 days ago, I thought I could never eat any food again. :/ But thankfully I have 3 foods I can eat right now, and I'm going to run again today.

Last time I cried was yesterday.

I occasionally imagine how I'd feel if something bad happened to me and cry - it's like acting, I can turn it on and off reasonably easily - not sure why this is, why it is I don't really cry for others or don't often cry for myself when bad things do happen to me. Maybe my crying like this is like when people watch sad films to make themselves cry, some sort of release. *shrugs*

Creature1001, I'm sorry to hear that you lost your Mom.

Well to be fair the last season of HIMYM has been quite focused on emotional stuff(Marshall/Barney dad stories for example).

As for the last time I cried I think it was listening to sappy pop songs
