Good question. And forgive me if I'm wrong, but I guess you won't know until you find out that your heart is on the wrong side of the body (through an X-ray or the like). :P

Yes, an outside observer would probably be necessary (although the heart is fairly close to the center, so searching for something such as the appendix would yield clearer results.

The worst part would be that the reflected person would have to eat reflected food on account of enantiomeric toxicity. That, of course, would be a clear test.

Unless the reflected person had their appendix removed.

I'm a trifle confused. Could you please elaborate on why a reflected person would have to eat reflected food?

Very, very interesting points.

[APPENDED (pun intended): To clarify, the part about the worst part refers to having to eat reflected food, not have an appendectomy.]

Enantiomeric substances of chirality opposite that of an organism have tendencies to be toxic. A certain drug was observed to be beneficial in one form but harmful and teratogenic in its opposite form.

I should shower soon. Mother's on her way home and we have to buy some materials for my project.

[Portal reference!]

What would be a good disyllabic interjection for a situation in which someone will leave temporarily?

The above Portal reference refers to this: http://i1.theportalwiki.net/img/b/b3/Tu ... arch_5.wav

I can't think of any disyllabic ones. I'd just go with "see you later".

Justification (using the old system of singular/dual/plural):
Monosyllabic: seems to indicate being curt
Polysyllabic: increases number of factors to be considered in potential sarcasm-assumption checking
Disyllabic: seems to work best (for this speaker)

Or, of course, you can always use another Portal reference!

You'd have to tell everyone what you mean, though.
