Dreamt that I had to use the restroom so I climb a flight of stairs in an abandoned building to get to it. It was the only room that was at the top of the stairs. When I walked in I notice their was red floral designs inside the left side of the bowl of the toilet. So I used the toilet and left. But, when I was in this area again, I had to use the toilet again. I climbed the same stairs and used the same restroom, but this time it looked like someone has set up living quarters in this very little room. I seen a small television on a small stand in the right hand corner. Then I lifted some fabric to see what was under it. I found bread and other food items that didn't need refrigeration. So I laid the fabric back down, got my business done and quickly left thinking to myself I don't plan on returning again.

I had this dream before I had to use the toilet early in the night. I really had to go bad and went. I've had a lot of me going to the toilet dreams in the pased but they are almost always before I have to go. Wonder if I have these dreams so I don't wet the bed?

Not sure what significance the TV and the food had in this dream.

My favourite dream was the one where I was an American army captain in World War 2 and we were fighting in this town. Well the Germans had us on the run, so we were conducting a fighting retreat. We got to this bridge in the town, and it seemed in the dream that if everyone got across that the dream would end okay.

Well I (for some odd reason) had an Uzi with unlimited ammo so I was covering my men as they fled across the bridge. All of a sudden, a stray bullet hits my Uzi and it shatters into millions of pieces. I start to panic and piece it back together (crazy me) and then realise I can't as the Germans are moving in on my position.

I still want to buy as much time for my men (all of whom have crossed the bridge by now) so I pull out a pistol and get up and start walking towards them, unloading my pistol. I manage to kill a few more before I get riddled with bullets and collapse to the ground - dead.

The creepy + awesome part? I actually felt pain in the dream and when I woke up I felt like I had just been punched in the gut.

But that's my favorite dream. Had it when I was sixteen.

Watching crudloads of WW2 movies pays off!

I dreamt that I got a kitten. Looked like a siamese mix with his tail bent at the end. The kitten had unusual markings. So the first thing I did was get it a bowl of water which it quickly drank up. All the kitten wanted to do is climb up in bed with me and lay next to my warm body under the covers. I didn't particularly like having the kitten in bed with me and my diecast toys.

I don't know whether this most unusual looking kitten was left on my front porch or if someone gave it to me. But, I don't remember any other people in my dream. The kitten looked like it had the same coloring of a siamese cat but had a few stripes on it's face and back. The tail also had darker rings almost up to the bend in it's tail. I don't know whether the kitten was male or female.

Last night, I dreamed of ants.

In particular, about creating an artificial neural network to mimic the actions of ants. To forage for food. To carry food back to the nest. To pick up debris from the nest and carry it out and discard it. To fight enemies. To not fight friends.

And the question I had never thought of concerning whether their behavior is fixed inside the egg and how much is learned after emergence from the egg.

I've had very vivid dreams since childhood. This was back in the '70s in a very rigid and ignorant community, so I was called a 'queer boy' for describing my dreams and thoughts to adults, some of whom were the only ones I enjoyed speaking to anyway... didn't really get on with other kids my age, and know now that it was most likely due to being an Aspie.

Looking back now many of the extremely vivid ones, were somewhat premonitive of events that would follow in my life. Whether they influenced me subconsciously to predispose them into being, not sure -- all I can say is that I didn't consciously seek out to make them come true. But the coincidences were pretty neat to look at...

One of the earliest dreams was around age 8 or so. Dreamt of flying with just my outspread arms, with miles of deep blue sky, and tan and, like sand under me. I'd gently alight onto the ground onto a concrete sidewalk, and felt very dry and hot air on my skin, like being in a dryer... walking under that massive sky. Remember talking about that to a lot of my friends, who of course never let me hear the end of it -- I grew up in Hawaii, and there were no vast deserts there.

Another one from about age 14 or so, was that same heat and dryness, but seeing these two towering blue glass spires with blocky red brick bases, on this black pad of glass, same blue sky. Walked around and wondered who built them...

Fast forward to 1997, and going to motorcycle mechanic's school in Phoenix. It was only then that the above two dreams began to show themselves in actual reality. That flight and walk, with the quality of sunlight. the way the dryness made my face feel tight... was just like an amalgam of 'things' in Phoenix. The curbs around my school were the same chalky color as my walk, with the same ruddy pebbles and curving paths.

The blue spires were even more unique. While going to bike tech school weeknights, had a day job working for a big credit company with a massive campus in Phx... and there they were.

It was uncanny... like I'd dreamt about the future as a kid.

But the most eerily accurate reveal, happened many years earlier as an Army trainee in basic...

About age 12 or so, there was this dream of being in a huge building, but with a space under it, where pillars stood around these sunken pits where plants grew in square planters surrounded my benches. Everything was squared off and made of red brick. It was cool and empty, and the sheer number of corners and sharp transitions reminded me of being in a video game, but of course in 3D (didn't have many first player games in arcades at that time). Light came in from above onto the plants, and liking secret fortresses as a kid, I looked around this place for a long time. This dream was vivid in my mind for days afterward...

In 1989 I was at Fort Jackson, SC for training. Our barracks were called the Starship, since all facilities were integrated into one massive building. We stood at parade rest packed like sardines waiting for the chow hall to open, when I looked off to my right... and there it was. Red brick, relentlessly angular like Minecraft, sunlight streaming in through the cool March morning onto planters in these sunken alcoves, with benches around them. I drew enough attention staring to earn 25 pushups while the others marched in to eat... but I was pretty shaken up. Understandably, I didn't attempt to explain to a 6'7" Drill sergeant why. :)

Since this time, I've dabbled in lucid dreaming, or LD. Once got to the looking hands point a few years ago, but my voice at celebrating broke the LD. Now it's pretty easy to drift into lucidity in that twilight between wake and sleep, and just follow my head as it dreams little montages.

Really like to dream (esp LD)... takes the edge off dealing with stressors. Not the same as facing the problem (which I'm very grateful for here), but it does help decompress a bit. :)

Zombies attacking poor fuzzy creatures.

Night before last was better: was at a great feast with lots of shrimp and candied nuts. Yum!

All my dreams are extremely artistic...some even seem like Tool's music videos like Vicarious. Sometimes they also have a lot of video game references.

Last knight I examined more use of distortions in bass guitar and has dreams related to Onimusha.

[not sure what thread to put my post in .. i put it in both]

i had a symbol in my dream last night that i've had so many times before. it was me .. being in a house .. deciding to gout in the back yard .. walking on the green lawn .. looking down at my feet .. seeing (once again) i was not wearing any shoes .. i was walking on the lawn wearing nothing but my socks on my feet.

to me it suggests that i am a little ahead of myself .. trying to pretend i'm more high functioning than i actually am ..

I had what I call a "nightmare" this night. It's not a real nightmare and I don't wake up or anything, I never had any of those dreams.. but instead I sometimes have dreams that leave me disgusted or depressed when I think about them afterwards.

So I've been watching a lot of Battlestar Galactica lately, and I dreamt that there were some new episodes in which a new character was introduced, a nice man who had a french bulldog (the cutest dogs on earth). Well I don't remember everything but it ended with the guy being killed by some kind of swamp tribe while he was trying to protect his dog.. and then the dog got killed too and also ROASTED AND PARTIALLY EATEN. I mean, what the hell, brain. 8O Anyway, dead dogs are real tearjerkers and the entire "episode" had this bleak, hopeless atmosphere that leaves you really uncomfortable.

If this is a chronic recurring dream for you, next time you dream it and look down at your feet, try looking at your hands.

There are a couple of levels of participation when dreaming -- the 'watching a movie', where you're not aware of being anyone, just watching things happen as a fly on the wall; the 'rider', where you're aware of being/experiencing something first-person and you're dreaming, but cannot control anything that happens -- very common. The last is the lucid dreamer, where you can control yourself (and often the environment when you're really good) in your dreams.

It takes a while to pick up, but try it sometime. Looking at your hands is a way to know you're dreaming but aware of it. If you look away, then look back and the details of your hands are different, e.g. lines, shape of fingers, etc., then you are dreaming. This can also be done with light switches on walls a la 'Waking Life' -- the switches do not affect the light at all if you're dreaming. Digital clocks or numbers like calendars are also good telltales for LD. ;)

This dream was quite upsetting. I had a series of dreams about me mom passing away before she passed away. I was having them shortly before she passed away in 1990. But, this dream is bringing me to the present where my brother is still alive. My bro has diebetes and so did my mom.

MY BROTHER PASSES AWAY
Dreamt that I was taken back in time where mom passed away than quickly brought to the present where my twin brother passed away. It was very upsetting for me. I just sat there with my elbows on my knees and my head in my hands wondering what I was going to do with all of my twin brother's stuff.

Though this dream don't make much sense, I decided to put it in my dream diary, anyhow.

Dreamed that although I was with both my backhoe toys in bed, the front of my RC excavator was touching the side of the bed. Every time I woke up in my dream I saw my RC excavator there. Then the next thing I knew I was putting 4 pieces of luggage in the back of a black van. The van didn’t have quite enough room for all of my luggage and I was having a lot of trouble getting mine in the back. I went into a meltdown and started cursing like a sailor. And then the dream ended.

i got lots of books on dreaming .. also lucid .. tho that never seems to happen to me too easily ..

my thing has mostly been to try to see it in C.G.Jung's perspective .. like it has deep real interesting and often urgent meaning .. waiting to be dug out ..

Dreamt that I was on a weird amusement park ride that spun at an angle while the cars moved in and out. Because the way everything moved on the ride, I never got sick, but felt a lot of sensations. I didn't particularly like this ride. So when I got off the ride I walked in a building where there was a big brown couch and other furniture. Everything was earth tones. When I got up to the back of the couch, I saw a large black plastic bag with something big in it. It was moving around and then I heard a voice. I quickly tore open the bag just to see a boy in his early teens in there with his hands and feet tide up. I finish removing the bag and went around to the front of the couch to remove the ropes. I became extremely upset as to how some monster can do this to a child. Then the dream ended.

I dreamt last night that my friend tidied and cleaned my room and bought me a drum kit and hugged me for ages. Nothing special to read but it was nice for me.
