I found vintage t-shirts,a Simpsons with Bart and the skateboard saying ,"I'm Bart Simpson, who the hell are you?"A Teenage Mutant Ninja t-shirt,Scumby(like Gumby but he's smoking and has a beer),and other cool shirts.Books are also a great find, once I was insulted by a man who tried to point me to the Harlequin romances,I suppose he meant well, but barfola.

I went to Fred Meyer today for some socks, longjohns and jockey shorts. They head them but they were way out of my price range. So I headed over to Value Village.

I bought me 8 jockey shorts, 2 pairs of longjohns and 3 socks for $17. The longjohns alone would've cost me about $22 at Freddy's.

Yay for Value Village!

Again, I got nothing during my thrifting tour in Seattle yesterday, save for a pair of khahkis and a nice button-up shirt for future use.

My husband and I stopped at Goodwill and I got my son ten books for 99 cents each. My son also saw a storage bin shaped like a Hotwheels car and it had wheels and it only cost $2.99 so we got it for him. My husband found something there about Space and it was only ten bucks and I found a brand new item of Hello Kitty ear things that go in your ear when you listen to music or use the computer and it was only seven bucks and it had never been opened. We spent $36 there total.

I love thrift stores too. I find loco thrift stores are the best. Second on my list is salvation army. Third is Goodwille. Goodwill has it's advantages, the items are cheap but the selection of items are not great. I find Goodwill is best for generalized clothing like shirts and pants where the preference doesn't matter. When it comes to other things though, you'll find mostly pots and pans and stupid stuff like that. Youll only find good stuff when you are lucky and chances are they will get snatched before you snatch it. Salvation army is better in terms of overall items especially electronic stuff. You can find great video games from time to time, and even games systems. I found a super nintendo, i've found many NES games and even got a great TV the other day for only 24 dollars. The disadvantage of Salvation Army however is that it's a little bit more expensive then Goodwille. The best I think is local thrift stores. You will find the best all around stuff. The cloth selection is limited but they always kept the best kinds of cloths, often stuff of great value. Electronic goods is the best too. I found an atari with 20 games for less then 15 dollars at one store. The dissadvantge of local thrift stores is that it depends on which ones you go. Most are great but sometimes you'll run into a dimsey store will little selection but usually where ever you find these there's a better one on the other side of town.

Yeah. That's the thing about thrift stores. You just have to be lucky with what you find on the day you're there. I was lucky to find all those large jockey shorts. The store had 8 and I bought them all.

The Capitol Hill Value Village differs from the one near me because the Capitol Hill one has musical instruments, synthesizers, and generally more electronics. The store closest to me has a lot of books, including comic books, as well as shoes, dresses, pants and shirts.

I'm in the market for a new pair of pants so I'll hit up Value Village in the near future.
