I thought I had a pterodactyl living in my back yard.

Yeah, I had a trippy first few years...

I thought the song requests on the radio were live.

I thought no one could hear the words to the song but me. And I sang them for other's at the top of my voice, the poor dears.

You know how if you look at it, you can sometimes see stuff swirling around in a glass of water?
I used to think that those swirling things were water molecules, and that I somehow develpoed microscope eyes.

I also remember thinking (I have no idea where this one came from) that if I threw off my routine, Superman or Batman would swoop in to wherever I was and punch me in the face.

I thought that if you saw smoke come out of the chimney of someone's house, it meant there was no one home.

I thought the yellow part of an egg was called the "oyss".

I thought that God looked like the muppet Beauregarde.

I associated English newsreader Peter Sissons with lemon curd - he always made me think of it.

when I was a kid, I thought the yolk of an egg was a jellyfish that would swim down my throat (eech! eech! eech!)

when I was a kid, I thought the electrical socket near my bed was 'leaking' electricity and I could feel it slide over my body while I was falling asleep and paralyzing me. I was so scared!

When I was a child I thought that I would be sucked down the plughole if I didn't get out of the bath before the water was drained.

When I was a kid, I thought that when people died, they would come back as blades of grass. The longer the blade of grass, the longer they had been dead. It didn't occur to me that people cut their grass.

When I was a kid I thought the hills would feel like lion fur.

When I was a kid, I believed I'd been left by gypsies and that one day they'd come get me.

I thought that a mirror was another world, when I shone a light into the mirror world they put one into mine, I couldnt pass through as it would be blocked perfectly, so I tried to outdo my reflection. Also the thought that everyone was in on something that I didn't know and I had to preted I knew it.

I thought that too much TV would literally give me square eyes, not that it really worried me though.

When I was a lad I thought the other children would catch up to me. I couldn't understand why they were so 'slow'.

when I was a kid I thought everyone didn't recognize faces, I never understood why they put pictures out for wanted criminals and later,missing children on milk cartons (until I was in my 50's) because I thought everyone else didn't recognize faces, either.
