After looking around the machine as seen in the thumbnails, I rest of the time walk around the succulent plant garden in this park. This park was once a quarry and a brick factory that had closed in the late 1970's and this what it has become to be.

Looks like I have a resident echidna
Or a tribe of them.
Holes dug everywhere and garden edging torn away or stripped of its outer layers.
Also, a #@%$*# possum ate my first paw paw.
Defenses will be going up today. :ninja:

MissLizard: Such beautiful spring landscapes.
Raleigh: I understand. A possum got almost all my jaboticaba. :-(

TODAY I AM SO EXCITED!

I have an orchid of unknown provenance which has not bloomed in over 2 decades. It was willed to me by a dear, dear friend. TODAY IT HAS A SPRAY OF BLOOMS!! !! !

The blooms are not fully open, but I couldn't help myself. After as much as 30 years, it is blooming:

My friend thought it was a Cattleya. He called it a "bifoliate Cattleya" but now that it has bloomed, it looks more like a Dendrobium.

Cornflake: Do you have any idea what this orchid is. Even to genus? Here are the leaves.

Finally, my first dark purple (not lavender) iris of the season. :-)

All those birds and beautiful plants in video!
Possums, they eat anything. They would be in my yard except for the dogs.
That orchid is gorgeous, such lovely colors. And to be that patient for it to bloom!!
It’s time to use the mower and weed eater here.

They also have a smell similar to vanilla.
They can produce berries for birds if you have a male and female.I only have the one but have been thinking of getting two more. The fall colors are amazing, bright yellow.Disease and pest resistance and does well in drought.
A great small native tree that should be more widely planted.

Dug a banana circle and planted 4 bananas.
Cut elephant grass and used it for mulch.
