^^ ugh, that's a pain

To the folks with kitty annoyances: are these kitties by themselves? No other critters, no other kitties? If so, they're trying to socialize (well duh) - cats are pride animals rather than pack animals, but they do bond and they do need attention and affection. Without another cat, or any other animal to play with, they come to you.

Try to find an arrangement that lets them sit next to you - preferably on your left if you are righthanded - and just stroke them or fuzz them periodically. People don't appreciate that cats can be very loving and feel very lonely, and it hurts them terribly when they turn to us and we turn away or punish them. Just like it hurts us to be frozen out by other people when we want human interaction.

If I'm right about this, finding a way to provide "sidebar attention" may solve your annoyance. The only other thing is, when they're sick, or hurt, they may pester. Keep an eye out for that.

And if I'm suggesting this stuff too late and you're just fed up, please consider re-homing them. What you are describing is not an impediment to adoption. There are no-kill shelters and cat rescues who'll take them and find other homes for them. Your annoyance will become someone else's delight, everyone wins.

I pour my heart and soul into a project for the third time and it's the second time it takes a year and a half for it all to blow up. The only difference is now I can see a thing or two on the horizon that will, in the long run, stop me from trying again. I'll be left with nothing I can afford to do. I. GIVE. UP.

There was an honest to god car crash outside my family home today. Some nutter had been speeding down our road, tiny and narrow as most suburban UK roads are, and smashed into our neighbour's car, which was pulling out their drive opposite my house. As a result they then smashed into my dad's parked car, which bashed in his second car, which then utterly staved in the front of our garage. Furthermore, the neighbour who was pulling out had his kid in the car with him, and she now has whiplash. The bonnet of his car had been knocked clean off it's frame.
Police were called, but they 'didn't come', because no one was injured. Oh, except for a minor!
The woman who was driving also committed a further offense by literally running away when a big crowd of neighbours gathered outside my house.
This all after I arrived home tonight after a lovely day at my town's Christmas fair with a new friend. What a great impression that must have made on him!

So after going for a walk I decide I'd like to go to pizza place that has really good pizza. I figure even though it's Saturday, it won't be too crowded at 4:30. What I didn't take into account is there's a hocky game tonight at the arena next door, so the place is packed.

Both utter kickers. :(
I went to therapy - why even bloody bother.
Received a tip about a possible surgeon - and there is no contact information and only bad reviews.
Now there's insomnia / severe delayed sleep phase syndrome and I have to be up early to go to the disability employment office. Oh joy.

I was already unhappy, but today when I was in the checkout to buy my groceries, I went to gum display next to the cashier to buy a pack, and she told me I had to go and put one of my full bags of groceries in my cart. So I did then I go to pick out some gum, and she tells me I need to put another bag in my cart. And then she does it yet again, and now I'm ready to explode. She asked if I'm okay. I said "NO! I never have been and I never will be! I can't even get myself a pack of gum!"

I don't what it is with the cashiers at the grocery store. Some of them will put the bags in the cart for you while others make you do it yourself for no obvious reason. It doesn't to matter how many bags there, are or how heavy. :(

And then I tried to call my mother for a ride home, but my phone wasn't working right for some strange reason. So after calling a couple of times and failing I decide to use the pay phone in the store. The only problem is that I didn't have any change, and had to get in another line-up to trade bills for some quarters.

When I told my mother about the problem with my phone, she tried using it and is appeared to work just fine. I guess my phone hates me. The feeling is mutual.
