I got hit with a meta: listening to and watching old studio and live performance tapes/vids of incredible musicians. For the eleven millionth time in my life, I just cannot fathom how anyone, anyone anywhere, can think of any human being as less than human based on silly nonsense like melanin and keratin (skin color and hair texture). (Or based on any other perceived or actual difference that's used to drive wedges between us - as everyone here knows. But the musicians I was watching were black, and some of the recordings were made during the Jim Crow era, and I don't want to dilute that issue.)

So much pointless, wasteful hate. So many blighted, truncated lives. So many other things that are really worth fighting, that we never even see, because we can't get beyond things like this.

property taxes due. income tax filing due. insurance on car and tin can due. car tabs due. bees and skeeters and flies and other pesky things on their way. torrential late winter winds and flooding rains. more yardwork. another year of unknowns and surprising scares popping up left and right. ugh. :|
