For the first time in years, I was finally desperate enough to depend on my 504. I know Nt's are noisy, but do they have to scream out what they are saying? I was actually in tears when I finally called it quits.

I have 2 things specific to today.

When my mother cooked supper today one of our new smoke detectors went off. I have a fear of the house burning down and a fear of smoke detectors. At least now you can push a button to turn them off and they don't sound as bad. When I was a kid I was terrified of the smoke detector. When my aunt came over and cooked it would go off and it made a loud continuous screech and someone would need to climb on a chair and take the battery out to make it stop.

After supper my mother was putting the pie back in the fridge and the whole thing fell on the floor. We only got 2 pieces from it. I was upset but at least the squirrels will get a special treat today and tomorrow. They love chocolate and seemed to like the whipped cream too.

Every day I am disappointed when my mother comes home from work and our new apartment isn't ready to look at yet. We are on the waiting list for employee housing near her job.

The fact that I can't visit my mum for a week in October like I did two years ago, because it's not a perfect world. I wouldn't want to, anyways with those reminders of how imperfect the world is.
