no... more commonly relatable interests, or common interests of merit to other peer aged americans’ intrigue, simply tanked for enjoyment over changes in perception. can’t enjoy such things unless they’re done companionably, and can’t focus on doing them while alone anymore. would rather not say what, as there’s no desire to potentially call out others’ interests as if they aren’t worthwhile.
points of most potential intrigue are in asian cultures, etiquette, philosophies, religions, histories, languages, music, art, cooking, folklore, literature, disciplines, architecture, lands, and martial arts. when one begins to read of very different lands, it clicks that there’s much more to the world than one’s homeland. that a gesture that’s kind and polite here, may very well be outlandishly rude elsewhere... reading into asia has helped make console to why having been born and raised largely in california has always felt like being a foreigner. have a therapist that once said something along the lines of, “there’s nothing wrong with you. you were born in the wrong country.”... such words helped accept traits/behaviors previously perceived as wrong.
