Gee, I can't imagine why her ex would want to get the kid away from her.

I'm sorry you have to put up with that but I'm really cringing for that poor kid.

Yep, the power and cable and all that good stuff is underground where I live too, and I am very grateful for it.

Wind died down a bit but has picked back up. Hoping I don't get any roof damage... I was planning to get it cleaned and then see about having it sealed... gaaaaaahhhhhh

I can see you being a real "DIY-er."

I admire that in other people----primarily because I suck at it myself.

Oh, no amount of money will get me up on a roof. I have a nasty barometrically triggered vertigo. Go up and down ladders all the time to work on my shutters, or when I replaced my smoke alarms, but there's a limit to how far up I will climb, and weather like this is murder.

I check my interior ceilings for leaks whenever we get foul weather and I check outside for loose shingles likewise - have a couple folks I can call if I need repairs. Was hoping to get ahead of things with the clean 'n' seal thing. I can still hope.

I am, though, going to go out and redo my vinyl shutters (clean them and sealcoat them so they look refreshed) as soon as this fershlugginer wind dies down. And I have to re-stain my front porch steps. And broadcast-seed the lawn some more. And and and.... yum :-)

Still very windy here and I'm so dizzy it's hard to do anything. (This happens anytime the barometric pressure changes rapidly. If I hadn't had a desk job I'd have been in serious trouble in the spring and fall every year.)

Gotta suck it up and go out to check on the roof and stuff while it's still light, though. So off I go. I wonder sometimes what my neighbors think when I have the spring and autumn staggers like this.

I woke up at 7 AM to go to the bathroom, I went to the living room to turn off my porch light, I saw my cat threw up on my chair, then I went back to bed, I got up almost at noon, I wanted to stay in bed.

Me & my girlfriend were planning to eat at the McDonald's in the mall & go to WalMart today but neither of those things happened. My girlfriend got up too late & was feeling sluggish for abit so we decided just to eat at the McDonald's & go to WalMart tomorrow. The McDonald's & another place or two at the food court were no longer there so we decided we'll try to eat at the Applebees at the mall but they were so busy we would of had to wait to get seated so we then decided to eat at the IHOP which is also at the mall. They weren't very full so we were able to eat there. Sux because we were both in the mood for McDonald's & I ended up spending more than I had planned to eat. There's another McDonald's we can get to so I told Cass we can go there next weekend or around then if she likes. It's out the way thou in a direction we don't usually have much reason to go in so I'm not sure what else we'll do but we can worry about it then. We went to the collectable store at the mall after we ate & they were having some good deals because they were closing down for a bit. A Target is coming to the mall & Target did NOT want them selling jewelry, toys & old coins for some reason. The toys & jewelry is NOT the same stuff Target sells & I don't have a friggen clue why they don't want em selling old coins when Target does NOT even sell that kind of stuff. The collectable store couldn't renew their lease without agreeing to quit selling those things. They plan to reopen but that means they mostly will just focus on selling blades/knives, comics(if they can still sell those), bongs(if they can still sell those) & miscellaneous collectable things. They plan on selling the toys online. I'm not sure why they're closing except maybe they need to switch locations in the mall. They were supposed to have closed earlier in the week but decided to stay open to clear out inventory so we were able to get everything at 50% off & the guy gave my girlfriend a couple cheap things she was buying & threw in some similar stuff. I also got a scorpion sculpture at 80% off cuz the claws were broken but my girlfreind's dad or brother can probably weld em on or something. We're long term regular customers & the guy working there is kewl so that may of been some of why we got extra stuff. I imagine some other businesses in the mall will be closing too. I kind of like the idea of a Target cuz it's the only other store like it around is WalMart but I HATE the fact that they're snuffing local businesses out. I'm not sure why the McDonald's is closed. We're really hopping they'll come back because that was the main reason we went to the mall most of the time. Sometimes we'd just eat there & then hop on the bus going to WalMart but other times we'd go to the mall without planning on going to WalMart & we'd go to the collectable store & maybe a couple other places while we're out. I'm going to miss not eating McDoald's & not buying knives/blades there nearly as often.

Kitty,

A day that begins with the cat getting sick is not a good day.

^^ BTDT, with my dowager empress. I hope it was nothing worse than a quick cleanup and hug-to-reassure.

++++++++++++++

Still too windy for me to start any outside work, and I have appointments on Mon and Tues that pretty much torpedo those days. Trying to whip up some enthusiasm for a bit of spring cleaning but can't get in the groove... I wanna do my shutters waah waaah ideally before all the queen wasps wake up.
