Some say he was the best doctor but for the sheer fun value, you'd have to go a long way to beat Tom Baker.

8O I thought it was a picture of Mick Avory when he was older. I need to start wearing my glasses all the time again.

<--- Hates wearing glasses.

I was the same until I changed to silicone hydrogel lenses. My old contacts allowed 16% transference of oxygen to the eye and these new ones allow 100% through.

*returns from a quick rummage on Google*
Ooh, interesting - things have really moved on since I last looked!
I'll have to have a word with my optician to see if they can get them for my prescription: it's a bit extreme for the ranges shown on-line, at +8.0 and +6.5.

^ My father wore contacts at the same time as glasses to correct his eyesight for the past 30 or so years. Over the past 2 years he has had lens implants done because of cataracts and can now see without glasses. 8O

I hope you have success, Mr Moderator Cornflake [just noticed], congratulations on your appointment. :D

I'd considered implants but they're even more expensive than laser treatment - and since I'm too long-sighted for that, and can afford neither anyway - that research came to a pretty quick end.

Why, thank you kind sir.

And just to remain on (or rather, regain) topic - I do wish I could claim this as one of mine but unfortunately it's not.
