Confusion.

It's a land of confusion though.

Really the heat and the bugs are getting to me here in Texas, I so wish I lived closer to the poles than this. Antarctica would be nice, there are cool birds there. It would be neat to build a real Outpost 31 there somewhere.

I scared my mom today. I was saying and doing things that have horrified her. Obviously, the road to recovery will be a treacherous one...

I did not sleep well last night.

Waking early.

Yesterday was the seventh anniversary of my mother's death and, even though I have made a lot of progress since then, I realize I am still much the same person I was then. The progress I will make from here on will be small in nature.

I got a call saying I didn't get the post of Area Director in Toastmasters, which could scuttle my goal of making Distinguished forever. I have the dubious distinction of falling short twice in making that goal. I have one small glimmer of hope that I can get credit for holding that office, even though it was way back in 1996. I doubt it. It was way too long ago.

I feel like a failure.

The fact that Monday is Memorial Day, which means I cannot talk to the court about my husband until Tuesday.

I went to visit the pup that I'm adopting. It's been three weeks since I last saw it, so it's grown a bit.
When I went to pet it however, it winced away from me, and wouldn't look at me.

This made me sad, because I wasn't sure what I'd done wrong.

Then I realized, that is how I make others feel, because I do the same thing.

That made me even more sad.

I'm concerned about my dog.
