But my force only had a few casualties from the bomb and continued to fight the flood without many casualties.

The corrosive microbes had been sequestrated and used by the virus to move on the next stage.

The virus was unable to affect the vast majority of the swarm, for the ones who where affected were soon used as deadly biological weapons against Anubis.

But then an Imperium spec ops team planted a dark energy bomb which destroyed all of the swarm.

Correction, they could only destroy the command centers, but the swarm was still rampaging across the universe. Meanwhile, the command species was being spawned in some secret location.

Then the Imperium launched a huge campaign to combat the Flood, but the Flood infected many, but then the Master Chief came and started to destroy the Flood!

At least, that was the propaganda that was spread by the imperium forces. The zerg/flood hybrid, now known as the Pedes, was preparing a full scale invasion of the Imperium.

meanwhile in a research facility, scientists discovered pie could kill hte Pedes. Pie was used and 100 percent of the Pedes died off.

that is, 100 percent of the ones that were harrasing the imperium forces. The pie could only work against strains that weren't resistant to it.

The Kor brood began to attack Anubis's forces.
