I was in pubs when I was 16. I was drinking a few years before that.

Also, the legal drinking age in Denmark is 15.

Mind=blown! 8O

Ah well. I don't plan on drinking alcoholic beverages any time soon.

the legal age for buying alcohol in denmark was rasied to 16 a couple of years back,
we had supervised parties at the age of 14 with a single set of parents staying over and a limit of how much we could drink.

a singular glass of wine or a single beer is also common for some occasions well before age 14-15 where most people start drinking, as is hot toddies, gloegg and irish cofee, usually in the winter.

There are a lot of beverages I would enjoy, if only they didn't have alcohol in them. The taste of alcohol just ruins it for me. :(

Have you tried some of the fruit beers? WIth many of those, it can be very difficult to taste the alcohol in them and they're often very low in ABV too - some of them are only 2.5% or so.

I thought you were from Birmingham in the UK. Must be confusing you with someone else.

Yeah, that's definitely someone else. I live in the US. Before that: Canada. Before that: China.

I was the same way when I was younger. My mum used to try and get me to drink it but I'd refuse. I'd gag just from the smell. When I started drinking at parties when I was 17 I felt that it was easier because I'd get really nervous in social situations and chugging alcohol down would help get me more comfortable. One thing that I could never tolerate and still can't is beer. I can't stand the taste of the stuff. Over time I slowly got more and more used to the taste. You might like the mixed fruity drinks like daiquiris, killer kool-aids, Long Island Ice Tea, pina coladas or bellinis. I find mixing vodka and coke doesn't taste as strong as rum and coke so I usually do that instead. I don't really like wine either but lately I've been able to tolerate it more and more. I find it easier for me to drink mixed drinks than coolers for the most part.

:lmao:

I started drinking and partying at 13 and 14.

Drinking while 16 and 17 here is perfectly normal, although technically illegal, everyone just does it anyway.

I'd like to have a spiritual meetup where I can meet all the religious people on WP. There....I've said it.
