When the Pedes problem was eliminated, the Imperium started to use advanced Forerunner technology, recruit more people, form an alliance with the Covenant. The many Space Marine chapters also started to recruit.

Since their guard was down, the Pedes decided to attack and initiated a full scale invasion of the Imperium.

Soon, the infestation had spread to many worlds. The flood and the energy virus proved the ultimate weapon.

But the Imperium, with the help of the Covenant mustered a defence and there was a stalemate.

While the stalemate ensured, a new, sentinent, powerful strain was being bred whose capabilities remain a secret. It is unknown if they will follow the orders of their own swarm...

Meanwhile, the enemy did not know what hit them. The sequestrated enemy took control of everything they came into contact with.

Meanwhile, a small group of Elite's captured a Pede's specimen and sent it to High Charity for experiments to be done on it and to hopefully control it and be able to improve upon the species.

Anubis infected his prisoners and set them loose to trick the Imperium forces.

The battle between the Imperium and the Pedes continued.

The escaped "prisoners" gave fake intel to the Imperium and requested to join the fight against Anubis.

The new strain was finally out, but unfortunently it went out of control very quickly. With their ability to assimilate both biological and technological, things seemed pretty dire. The swarm was ordered to Quarantine the battlefield...

The prisoner's got tested for viruses and were found out, they were disposed by the Inquistion, meanwhile on High Charity, the Covenant were starting to gain much information on the Pedes.

All part of the plan, Anubis mused smugly from his throne.

With the data the Imperium and the Covenant got, they were eliminating Pedes by the billions and were quite successfull.

The false reports rained through from the sequestrated forces. Soon the Imperium and Covenant High command would be in Anubis' grasp.

Soon, the individualistic new breed grew beyond the constraints of the Pedes and were forced to retreat. All links were cut except some minor surveillance microbes. Meanwhile, the "SuperPedes" broke the stalemate and began to lay waste to the Imperium and Anubis's forces in that sector...
