Makayla, before you test, make sure to practice driving in the area around the DMV, or wherever it is you're testing. I learned that lesson the hard way when I failed my first test in the faraway land of Zanesville, where I had no practice whatsoever.

That's not how it's done in Oregon. You take a paper test to get your permit only. No driving. You have to drive on the Scappoose back roads for a license, but that's about it.

Permit: An underage driver is allowed to drive during daylight hours with an adult older than 21 in the vehicle.

License: An underage or of-age driver who is legally allowed to drive on their own at and hour of the day, prior to having a learner's permit for at least one year.

That's off the Oregon DMV website.
