That lily is gorgeous!

My pineapples are close to ripe. Somebody already got the first one. Mangoes are just starting to ripen. They are much smaller this year due to the drought, but that does make the flavor more intense.

Bummer about the pineapple, a group of blue jays nailed all my pie cherries.
Ripe mangos, so yummy.
I’ve been getting some blackcap raspberries, alpine strawberries and the wine berries and blackberries are coming on.Now it depends on rain, last year they cooked on the vine.So hot and dry.
Had new potatoes and fresh green beans the other day with butter , delicious.
There was a juvenile barred owl out the other night hissing.
Lots of fireflies at night.
It’s good to be in the garden.

I love pie cherries! So sorry you lost them. Of course they do not grow here.

A pair of barred owls nested in a tree near our home. Watched the babies on the first few days after fledging. So cute! They are still hanging around, whistling.

I have some tropical greens to eat, but nothing conventional.

I strung a hammock under the mango trees. Heaven on earth.

The garden went wild. The blue day flower has taken over. There are okra and peppers in there somewhere. It’s too hot to weed by hand and my battery died for the weed eater. So let it grow.

I used to have wormwood plants, they are pretty and drought tolerant.I have tons of the iris that produces orris root, I dug some up to dry but it takes years for that violet smell to develop. They smell like grape soda when they bloom.
It’s been raining almost every day with pop up storms.A very green August.
Zinnias look great.
Nematodes have attacked the okra.No more heirloom varieties, I’ll have to get a nematode resistant hybrid.
Tomatoes look like crap.Peppers and eggplant thriving.
