best of luck. i was a better student as an adult learner. i hope it works out for you.
thank you, that’s reassuring. have been hoping that having zero concern with things like fitting in, and not having special interests that are addictive time sinks(like video games), along with actually having an interesting major(kinesiology/physical therapy path) will help keep a diligent focus to get everything done correctly this time.
the first day was daunting though. rather relieved to have taken a relative’s advice in taking a couple classes instead of four for the first semester back... to get back into the routine of things gracefully. the statistics class everyone in counseling said will be a breeze looks like three classes worth of homework in itself. the teacher mentioned he’d be teaching extra calculus to do the class his way, some basic computer programming because knowing such things is becoming more and more useful in his eyes, and that there’d be many group activities because he said everyone should get used to presenting ideas and networking... possibly makes more sense for the majority there studying business.
the first exercise was introducing yourself to a partner with three facts about yourself so they’d guess your major... and shortly after, he mentioned that everyone then would have to introduce the class to their partner. uh, having sat in the front corner of the room, being first to go wasn’t exactly ideal... got through it in a dissociated state, and after class, walked like four miles in the rain to regroup.
luckily, he was quite friendly and helpful while having had to ask some questions after class ended... considering he’s the only teacher that teaches that course.
