Cold Steel Hold Out III for an alright price.

Seems like a solid small folder. I like the blade geometry; broad to a sharp point, so you have pretty good cutting and stabbing.

A new fedora...

Image

It's the one on the right.

I was actually somewhat averse to buying a regular fedora, as they usually have brims too wide (2 1/2 inches or more) for my taste. I usually wear "Trilby" style hats with a relatively narrow 1 3/4 inch snap brim like the one on the left in the above picture.

However, I managed to find a hat with a less pronounced brim width (2 1/8 inches) that I really liked... The season isn't really for felt hats right now, but I found it at a street vendor who doesn't restock regularly, and I didn't want to risk it being sold to someone else...

Set me back approx. $ 70, which is actually slightly less than I paid for the hat on the left.

I now have sixteen hats... (several are cheap summer hats bought for less than $ 15 each, though)...

I like fedoras, but unfortunately the whole "neckbeard" stereotype has ruined them for me.

A new pathophysiology book that I'll sell back for 3/4 of the new price. I rented my books from Amazon and the patho book they sent has too much damn highlighting and I can't focus - sending that back for a refund. Now I'll be able to highlight the hell out of the new book before I sell it back.

I'm grumpy, can you tell?
