Had a decent chronic hives day today. My maple butter smoked salmon and coconut rice turned out delicious as well. My gastroparesis meds worked thanks to an effective acupuncture session that I performed on myself yesterday. :D

He goes regularly and he generally does the same things every time (undiagnosed aspie) :) but yes, I like to hear about his travels and see his photos. He was meeting his girlfriend's mother this time.

:)

He speaks a little Spanish, but only what he's learned in his travel. His girlfriend is from the Philippines (they live together) , and her mother whom he had never met flew from from the Philippines to Spain to holiday with them. My brother knows Tagalog better than Spanish, I dare say. We have relatives in South America but we haven't visited enough to learn Spanish from them.

you are all very well travelled, it seems. most amuuuricans never even leave amuuurica. I useta know more tagalog than I do now, worked around a bunch of Philippines ex-pats.

We've been lucky to have family all over the world thanks to my mother's massive family. Most are in the US so I've spent time in many states (about ten of them?) and I lived in Cali for two years. Then there's a bunch in South America and some in Canada and Europe. I have so many cousins I don't even know them all, but yes it was an interesting childhood visiting people!

I don't know any Tagalog, myself. It sounds difficult but apparently it isn't. My brother's best friend who will be rebuilding my bedroom in November is also married to a Filipino woman -- so he speaks Tagalog quite fluently and likes to amaze me with it. Ha.

^^^the language instructor Charles Berlitz maintained that the most important words to learn first in any language, were the native words for yes(oo)/no(hindi)/where is?(kung saan ay)/how much?(magkano)/please(pakiusap)/thank you(Salamat), as well as how to count from 1-10= isa, dalawa, tatlo, apat, lima, anim, pitong, walong, siyam, sampung.

Very impressive, Blabs!! !

I like that list. It's very logical and I love that you can count! I'll have to try saying (reading) all those words to my brother and his GF. lol.

walang anumAN [you're welcome - stress accent on capitalized letters] :)
remember, their vowels are "A=aw - E=eh - I=ee - O=ohh [flattened a bit] - U=ooh [a bit like the French u with a bit of ee in it]."
