@Sempiternal well, I'd tell that I'm going to cross the road to Mc'D's and she'll tell me to call her when I've arrived at the other side of the road. 
And, she's really strict, like I have to get a certain grade or above on tests or else.
And, uhh...she often blows up for no apparent reason, then when we get back home she'll say that "It's all because of your bizzare choice of clothing". What the hell? white T Shirt+blue jeans...?

My mother's a bit similar to yours, except she cares more about the overall grade for a grading period/semester more than individual tests (most likely because she doesn't see the tests often).
Hey, when you get lectured by your mother, does she use completely irrelevant topics to lecture you about? (Unless that's what you meant by the T-shirt thing. I wonder what's so bizarre about a T-shirt and blue jeans...
)

Of course, I'm still here. I'm currently running on Reserve Power (a.k.a. my iPod).
So... Yep. I had to design and draw a pirate flag for an MIT program application today. It was actually pretty fun, but I guess that must have discouraged some people from applying.
