We were going to a have curry for our Saturday night meal tomorrow... now we've changed it to a Mediterranean-style cold buffet... with loads of pink fizz (it's in the fridge already).

Would my WP buddies like me to do a card reading on the UK to see what is in store for your country?

I would, Twiz.
I know that the cards will say what they say, but good news would be great...

I've actually picked some very fortunate cards here. :)

Image

The center present cards are the 3 of diamonds (desires come true) and 10 of diamonds (great fortune, great luck).

The past cards are the 9 of diamonds (expansion of earthly good) and 6 of hearts (long-term good luck).

The future cards will be the 7 of diamonds (a new look) and the Queen of Hearts.

The final card is the King of Hearts.

To put it simply, I believe that in the future the British Empire may make a comeback and it will bring good things for your country. I don't know much about British politics, but The King and Queen of Hearts may represent an alliance between the queen and her son (I think she has someone who might inherit the throne after she passes, right?) Or it could represent your next Prime Minister. I'm not sure.

But things seem to be headed in a positive direction for your country, even if things are bad now.
:king:  :queen:

As for the good ol' USA, I can't really say the same for my country. My country is most likely going to get worse under the rule of the King of Clubs. His family is also represented by the Queen of Clubs (his current wife Melania and his ex-wives) and Jack of Clubs (his children). He's going to bring a "great transformation" through the Ace of Clubs with the aid of the Ace of Hearts (the intense love and support from his supporters). :|

Woohoo!
I'll take the return of the British Empire in a metaphorical sense. We don't really want a return to slave trading or opium wars. A sense of fair play, compassion, inclusiveness... the qualities we were supposed to have but didn't really happen. That would be empire enough for me.

So far my cards have been right about a lot of things, so this may indeed be foretelling a good future too. :)

I believe the UK has paid off much of it's karma dept for the bad things done by the British Empire in the past. Your country has learned from its mistakes and your people do indeed have more compassion.

My country on the otherhand, we have mistakes to pay for ourselves. Karma is going to kick our asses before this is all over. But on the bright side it may at least teach Americans some humility in the end.

These next few years will either make us or break us.

I believe what you say about compassion... bubbling away, deep down. Can't speak for the US though. I suppose I hope you're wrong on that one. The UK makes a virtue of having its ass kicked.

I believe that suffering and defeat can potentially inspire compassion and sympathy in others.

Look at what losing World War 2 did for countries like Germany and Japan. They are no longer the same countries that they were during that war.

So since I don't know a lot about the politics in the UK, is there a chance that Queen Elizabeth II has somebody in mind to take over the throne after she eventually passes? I know she's in her 90's now.

I think the cards are telling me her royal family is represented by the King and Queen of Hearts. Powerful emotions and somebody who runs their house with much strength, also I think maybe a good diplomat.

Trump's own family are represented by the King, Queen, and Jack of Clubs. An unscrupulous businessman driven by ambition to get exactly what he wants at any cost.

Btw I know you guys are getting a new Prime Minister. Anything you can tell me about that? :)

The next PM will probably be Boris Johnson, though he seems to be doing his best right now to blow his chances.

I think that under the regular laws of succession, the next UK monarch has to be Prince Charles. Should he die before the present Queen, his eldest son (William) becomes the heir, not one of Charles's siblings.

So her son Prince Charles may inherit the throne soon. He might do excellent things for your country. :)

I think Queen Elizabeth may stick around for awhile though as I didn't pull an Ace of Spades which would foreshadow death. The Queen of Hearts is a tough old broad for sure!

 :queen:

Why does Jeremy Hunt always look so smug?
Because he knows he only has to feed Boris enough rope and he will hang himself. Boris' whole campaign is based on... don't do interviews, don't speak to anyone... as George Orwell would say "he isn't even a stuffed shirt, he's just a hole in the air."

Charles will be next king, unless there is some divine intervention. But he has been too outspoken and has already f*cked up. He won't be popular.

One does not successfuly run a country by popularity alone. It's all about doing what is right for your people even if they despise you for who or what you are. ;)

If my memory serves me correctly, Charles XII of Sweden was so unpopular he was shot by one of his own soldiers... in the back, with a button (one of those round brass buttons they used to wear in th'olden days).

All leaders make enemies who want to kill them. You can't make everyone happy. :P

Although some are corrupt tyrants like Adolf Hitler and deserve to be killed.

Funny thing about the symbolism of the Hearts.

On a negative side it can represent somebody with poor impulsive behavior and poor control over their emotions. Think of The Red Queen of Hearts in "Alice in Wonderland" who was chopping the heads off of anybody who angered her for example.

But on a positive side it can be somebody who actually controls their emotions well and uses their compassion and empathy but also their anger to their advantage. They're the type that would feel very strongly for a cause they were fighting for.

Perhaps the people of the UK will come together to build a better future for their country? :chin:
