#3 is my partial lie. I was six when I hid out on the fire escape :)

#2 is your partial lie. You didn't break it again.

1. My fiancée finagled me into a bathroom in a restaurant. She said she wanted sex with me right there. We were taking off our clothes.....when a man with a baseball bat came barging in, telling us to "get the f--- out of here!" She ran out laughing. I ran out mortified.

2. It was the middle of winter. It was snowing. I had a date with a woman from work. She was about five years younger than me. I was pushing 30. She wanted to make out on a snow-filled park bench. She called me a fuddy-duddy for saying "It's too cold!" She was sort of a classical-music prodigy when she was younger.

3. This time, I was the one who initiated the idea. It was about 8 PM on a September evening circa 1980. I was with my fiancée. I saw this pretty fountain near Rockefeller Center. I proposed that we both go skinny dipping----and we did! We didn't get caught!

We have to take a vote on this LOL

Would you, Isabella, like "Mr. Ticket Man" to be Mr. Fixit Man's theme song for this thread?

Yes, I did break my foot a second time. I suppose the first fracture wasn't fully healed. I dropped a heavy can and set myself back for another eight weeks of recovery (first break: last May, second break: last July). It wasn't fun at all.

3 is my lie. I have never broken my ankle.

2 does sound like you: "It's too cold!", but you seldom dated younger women.

That must have really sucked....did you ever use a coat hanger to scratch the itch which inevitably develops under a cast?

#3. I felt quite romantic and frisky that night. It was a beautiful, warm, and fragrant evening. There were many beautiful fountains around us.

I had the thought....but, alas, I chickened out!

#2 actually happened. I gave in. We made out on the park bench. I didn't feel too good, though.

I am glad to have been able to divine the Lilac Scent at this moment.....but, alas, Work Beckons!

I shall have to depart until about midnight English time, 7 PM New York time.

I had a walking cast (removable boot thing) most of the time. I had taken it off assuming I was recovered sufficiently when I dropped the dreaded can. It was a very hot summer :(

1. I amazed a professor once with how poorly I translated a Middle English text into Modern English.

2. I wrote something which defined the word "punctilious." I wasn't an English major yet. The professor who gave the assignment said I should major in it.

3. I took a class on the Scottish Chaucerians......and almost failed the course.

I can't imagine you were asked to formally translate a text in undergrad, beyond understanding it?

It wasn't really "formal," per se. But #1 is true.

#2 is true, too. And I changed my major to English.

#3 is false. There was never any course specifically about the Scottish Chaucerians.

I kind of wondered about that (lol), but also about the translation.

The most difficult courses for me in Uni were:

1. Anthropology

2. Political Science (which was essentially ancient philosophical thought)

3. Math

Now I remember. We had to translate the Prologue to the Canterbury Tales.

I think you mentioned that you found anthropology difficult: #1.

Yes, Anthropology was very difficult for me. It wasn't what I expected. My question asked which one wasn't difficult, so try again!

Be an astronaut or be a deep sea explorer?

You didn't find political science difficult.

I believe I would rather be an astronaut, all things considered.
