Because we grew up in an era that had lawn darts, no one wore helmets when riding a bike, seat belts were not required to wear by law and we could spend hours wandering around without adult supervision, I sometimes wondered how my brother and I lived to adulthood. 8O

And then it hit me. We survived our childhood because we were VACCINATED!

Seriously, a lot of good seat belts and helmets will do if you have no protection against preventable illnesses that can cause you to suffer brain damage (measles) or drown in your own mucus (pertussis) or just be in so much excruciating pain the doctors have to medically induce coma to ease your suffering (tetanus).

Gonna continue extra housework tomorrow in preparation for (hopefully) Wednesday. Just better to get it out of the way.

I'm wondering if the Junos will be any better than the Emmys, or just as bad.

It boggles my mind how someone could be watching Shoa in the November of 2015 and wearing a Stahlhelm three months later. My mum and I got lost in translation in the December that year. She said some verbally abusive thing to me on Boxing Day to the effect of, "If you don't quit acting this way, I'm going to drive you home!" A voice in my head told me not to please and impress my parents anymore. That they really are both the same in the end. I still have a great respect for Jews. It's that I'm happier pleasing myself than I am pleasing my two-headed monster that agrees with itself....I mean parents agree with each other about the sadistic way they think autistic adults should be dealt with. The way that Rain Man is treated by his brother in the beginning of that movie. I thought in my mind, "Screw that....my parents can't control me anymore. I'm through with pleasing them. I'm going to please myself!" Things are going well between my parents and I, because they don't have that 50s asylum control over me that they enjoyed for the last time, that Boxing Day. I feel a little turned on by the whole thing every time I put the helmet on my head.

I guess that's what my sister saw inside of me the day she said I reminded her of Schultz that morning in 1987.

I could forgive my mum and I have. It's not going to stop me wearing the helmet.
