I don't know about that, but I will say that they seem to be a fair bit smaller than they used to be. No doubt the company could justify that on health grounds.

They do a really good mint-flavoured version as well, I've got one of those for tomorrow night.

I know but we only have it about twice a year for a treat

I can remember when it was 30p for a poke of chips

It's perhaps a good thing they're smaller in that case

Hence expressions like 'cheap as chips'. Did you ever hear the expression 'three penn'orth of chips'?

Yeah but I'm too young to know what three pennorth means

Chips should be free. They're made out of potatoes that grow in the ground for free

I could literally grow my own in a bucket under my kitchen sink if I wanted to

'Three pennies worth' (as I'm sure you realized!). And the thing is, we're talking about the old, pre-decimal pennies, ie 1.75p worth of chips.

I ate the enchilada plate from the restaurant next to my office for lunch on Wednesday. I had only had about three hours of sleep and was waiting for my new computer to be delivered. Hopefully it will be delivered on Thursday. That delivery company sucks.

It was truly pathetic.

The enchiladas were pitiful.
The beans were pitiful.
The rice was pitiful.

There was nothing there that I can't do better.

There are two restaurants in town. The other is sometimes better, sometimes worse. I can cook better than either of them.

After more than a month of cooking all of my own meals, I ate at the other restaurant on Monday night. I wasn't feeling real well and didn't feel like cooking. So I went there for their chicken fried steak special. There was nothing special about it. They used to be a lot better on their chicken fried steak. The sides were okay but the chicken fried steak was mediocre this time.

To make it worse, I have to go to the assisted living center another town on Friday for lunch. I ate there last year and it was okay except that their steak they served was cooked well done. Who would do that to a steak? A rib-eye steak should not be that tough to chew. Unless I can come down with the flu, I can't get out of it.
