I confess I just had an extremely uncomfortable dinner with my boss and several colleagues. I did not go to my conference today, which I am also confessing. This was because today was the opening reception. Bright lights and a lot of socializing. Not my thing. So I go to the hotel where the conference is to figure out where I need to go tomorrow morning and the person I run into is my boss. He asks me to dinner. What do I say? I wanted to just grab a quick and cheap bite to eat. I ended up wasting two hours of my life in boring conversation. I try to get involved and end up saying things that are real funny in my head, but nobody else gets. Plus, they were eating at a place I would NEVER eat at...
The Cheesecake Factory. My sandwich came with lettuce on it. Lettuce belongs in salads and nowhere else. I hate the texture when I am eating chicken, cheese, and bread.
I confess I am watching my post count these days, as the numbers are corresponding to my lifetime and I am being reminded of what went on when...
This is post 1984. The 80's rocked...except that moron president. In 1984, I was 13 and
Temple Of Doom and
Dune were in theatres.
Beat Street was the king of the beat, their was a
Search For Spock, and Tom Hanks had a
Bachelor Party.
R.E.M.'s sophomore full-length effort
"Reckoning" was out and the
Talking Heads seemed to
"Stop Making Sense".
Run-D.M.C. and the
Red Hot Chili Peppers debuts were released.
Weird Al was
"In 3-D".
INXS was in
"The Swing" and
U2 was battling the
"Unforgettable Fire".
Depeche Mode had
"Some Great Reward", while
The Cars travelled to
"Heartbeat City".
Bob Marley was a
"Legend" and
The Pogues had
"Red Roses For Me". The Boston Celtics won the NBA Championship. Ahhh...1984!
Guilty pleasure:
