It's not a problem. Actually, I could have put a subtitle to the photo. That was the first one I took that day. It was early in the morning, very early for a Sunday, and there was almost nobody in the street. It was a great visit, I enjoyed it a lot.

Macro shots, taken with my macro lens with added extension tubes. Most of the stuff is at most 1-2cm IRL:

And some eejit I found in the forest a while back. Messed with the channel mixer on this one:

Great Blue Heron, that I took today, seemed to be a hard bird to get a photo of around here, as they seem to sence you coming from a mile away, and they were really testing my patience

THE GREAT STATUE OF LIBERTY

I don't know why the government built such a thing in front of people and facing the sea. (It's length is only 1.50m)
And do you see the lamp instead of the torch, and also the lights around the neck :D
And why are the lions in there for?

The picture was taken in "Akçakoca" a small coast town in Black Sea Region of Turkey.

There are also huge real statues of historic Turkish leaders in the same area. They are really good, and i really don't understand why they put this shameful thing to a public place

Origami cranes. 2 sets of 1,000 (I'm gonna redo the strands properly, 25 strands of 40 cranes on each)
Image

Another 1,000 in a fish bowl (these are proper origami paper)
Image

Work in progress (approx 400 so far)
Image

Just to give you an indication of how small they are (I make them from 35mm squares)

I was about to post this picture in the 'what are you eating at the moment/just ate' thread
but that would be not really correct.... for I made and ate this dish over a week ago. Plus a 'chance'
to revitalize this thread a bit again.... not really getting why this thread doesn't work no more. (but hey).

Anyway, this is a dish one eats cold. I love it. With pasta, sugar-snaps and egg (<all cooked of course),
tuna, tomato, black olives, fresh parsley, dried thyme, lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper....

Just a snapshot of my grand niece's 1st birthday party. I just like the lighting and how it makes the bear seem abandoned.

This is what I've been doing the last couple of days. I.e. cleaning the wood work outside with cleaning vinegar
and rinsing it off with water. When fully dried again a little sanding and than I painted the wood with some sort of
varnishing stuff (beits, we call it here).
Although it became a tad darker than desired.... I'm quite satisfied.

Fence on the left is cleaned but not varnished, garage on the right is varnished.
Image

Um, the wood needed some attention, it had some fungi-like stains and went grey/greenish here and there.
Image
(oh, I made the little building myself, with a little help from my father, almost 9 years ago)

I just bought quite a chunk of olive/herbs cheese. (:D me likey).

Well, since one month, weekly every Friday, this 'diary' farmer/entrepreneur started visiting our neighbourhood, trying to sell his cheeses, milk products, eggs and even Dutch wines. I only buy cheese and eggs from the chap but I'm very glad with this progress. Wish a good fish monger and good butcher followed this awesome initiative.

Well, a picture of the cheese I bought....

I suppose they aren't random, but I like them anyway. These are the pictures I took when I was in Miami last September. I absolutely love this city, and wanna go back there soon. Such beautiful skyscrapers, such beautiful beaches, such beautiful scenery. And there's thunderstorms, too! :D

Awesome clouds in this picture, and skyscrapers (which I love):

Some photos of a bald eagle I took today using my new canon 400mm lense. I was driving threw this park looking for eagles, knowing that a nest is near by, and seen this one sitting on a guardrail on the next road over!

Irises, my favourite flower, in bloom again.
Image

~

Here's a picture of the blackbird couple who have my garden as their base for years now.
Most of the time they are not afraid of me at all (although the male (black with orange/yellow beak)
looks a tad on guard here.... the camera, I think). The female tends to be really bold and hops
around and under the chair I'm sitting in outside (indirectly asking for food probably).
She even has been inside the house a couple of times and left a 'drop' twice (on the dinner table).

Image
Well, it's feels good to know the pair seem to trust me and always kinda go on with
their business while I'm nearby.... gardening or something. (today I varnished the bench,
one could notice in the background twice)
