I was about to post that as well as the band looking kinda dorky that I thought Engelmacher is also a pretty dorky name :p

edit: but the music is not bad.

edit again: I just read the wikipedia article for the phrase "Engelmacher" (there is only one in German). Apparently it's an old German slang word for people who performed abortions. The name feels a little less dorky knowing that there is some cultural context behind it. I still wouldn't call my band "Abortionist" though which is essentially what they are calling themselves. That is unless they are not German at all and they also didn't realise the cultural connotation.

Today I'm in a metal mood. The album this song is from is a strong contender for my favourite metal album. I have no idea why the video is over 9 minutes long because the song isn't.

The band is mainly one guy with another musician for live performances. He chose the name purposely, but as a statement against the way society handles its members in general (or at least that is what I got out of it). It was probably chosen also in part for its dark connotations which are very popular with bands, particularly in Germany.

I am not sure of their nationality (many in the scene make songs in languages other than their own). I would like to think they were aware of the cultural implications of such a name, since many bands in the genre are quite knowledgeable and like to use provocative names.
