"Sabrina" by einstürzende Neubauten (Odd song about the German culture and politics).

Now playing:
"Vänner Och Frände(r)" by In Extremo (a reinterpretation/restructured version of the original "Vänner Och Fränder" by Garmarna. Yes, I am aware In Ex's pronunciation is abysmal (they evidently don't know what the "å" or "g" sound like in Swedish) , but das letzte Einhorn (awkward name, I know) has the perfect voice for the song...Oh and Nyckelharpas rock. :D )

Just listened to "Bohemian Rapsody" by Queen. I cannot figure out why anyone likes this song. It seems to go no where and do nothing. I guess it must work for some people, but I don't get it.

Sometimes you just have a really bad day. With two favorite songs: Woo Hoo (Blur) and Tubthumping (Chumbawumba)

I just posted to YouTube this video of a live performance this last Saturday night of a 1995 song of mine called Red Baron. I am listening to it now.

Laibach: "du bist unser" (you are ours)

I find the blatent hypocrisy of the line "Maschinengewehr aus jeder Galaxie // heilen wir allgemeine Agonie" somewhat humorous (I'm sure that was also the band's intention) in that twisted, Laibachian way.
Laibach: "Mi Kujemo Bodočnost!" (we are forging the future!)

Nothing like the grungy, Communist Bloc Propaganda-anthem-style utilitarianism-tinged music of the Slovene group to get you motivated.

All YT has are live versions of the song in terrible quality, so I won't even bother posting the videos, as they do no justice to the band's work.

Yesterday I was in a rap mood today it's a metal mood. I don't normally like Machinae Supremacy but this song is awesome.

well this is superficially comedic, but it is essentially an astonishing work of genius.
i guess nobody will look at it, but it is worth a try. if you listen to the whole song, maybe you will see in it what i do.

there is quite a lot of preamble in this song (which i understand and consider genius as well (however ADHD people may not listen through "the hard to understand why it is good" prologue)) , but when the guitar solo really steps into the fluent expression of this song (at about 6:46), i think most average musically minded people will appreciate the exceptional musicality of this piece.

the problem with zappa i think was that he was not confident enough to offer his music in a less than comical way (at the beginning of his songs).
