Survived another day of medication side effects (I can't wait to get off the lithium, I had to get up at least 6 times (I started losing track) to pee last night because I've been drinking so much 8O This is a problem I've had with lithium before when I was on it, so I expect that is what's causing this.).

Oh, and I managed to keep pace with my dog on his walk even though I've been having weak legs as part of all the med stuff, and he was walking faster than usual (it rained earlier today, he may have been eager to get his paws back on dry ground).

I got my blood drawn today. I sometimes get poked a few times cuz they have trouble(I have small rolling veins) but the woman had no trouble at all. My psychiatrist is willing to try a med with me(I've been on it like 10 years ago) but the med can affect certain things & he wants to be sure it's safe. I'm worried I won't get it cuz my blood sugar & cholesterol were high last time I had routine blood work done which was over a year ago & my eating & exercise habits haven't changed much. I walked to the health center from the bus station & I walked back to the bus station from the health center. That bus only runs every half hour & I was about a 20 minute walk away. My psychiatrist & doc have been pushing me to exercise more & get more sun & it was sunny during both my walks. I also washed dishes tonight. I wait till they pile up before washing them cuz it's easier for me to wash a bunch at a time instead of me washing a few every couple days. I also should shower & shave my face tonight & shaving is a pain for me cuz I have low vision & bad fine motor-skills so I only shave my face 1ce a week when the hair starts getting kinda long.

it's not too late to turn a new leaf. walk like you're late for a meeting a half hour each day, rain or shine, perhaps make one day a cheat day to rest and eat. avoid white food. [sugar, starch, potatoes, pasta, puddings, gravies]. replace those foods with more greens and beans and seeds and nuts. avoid oils. if you do these things, the rest will take care of itself. and it doesn't have to cost much more [if anything] even. a matter of choosing different things. you can do it. :wtg:

Thanx man. The good news is that the new med was prescribed(I got a notification from Walgreens that it was filled this morning) so my blood work must not of been too majorly bad. It's probably still bad enough for my GP to be concerned thou & if I'm gonna be on a med that can make things worse, I really need to make some changes.
I do go walking some since me & my girlfriend don't drive but with spring coming, I really need to do some extra walking for the sake of walking sometimes. I'm not gonna walk every day but I should go walking more often than I do & do some extra walking some of the time I'd be walking anyway. I tend to walk fast anyways when I'm walking by myself & I sometimes feel like I walk too fast cuz my body gets tired & sore easily. I'm not gonna worry about my walking speed for now & just walk at whatever pace I can & feel comfortable with.
I have some 5lb dumbbells I was in the habit of lifting a few years ago & I really should start lifting them again on days I don't use my arms a whole lot(like carrying bags on days we go shopping & washing dishes). I tried at least a few times to get back in the habit of doing them but I always break the habit before it sticks. I need to try to remember & push myself to do em more. 10reps at a time while I'm trying to get the habit stick will still be something & then I could up the reps to like 15 1ce I feel I've gotten used to doing them again. I really don't wanna push myself too hard & fast.
As for as my eating goes. I'm a very picky eater who does binge eat on snacks a lot. I should try to restrict my snacking for now.
I know myself well enough to know that if I try to make too many changes at 1ce, they're much less likely to become habits for me. So for now I'm gonna try & make small changes till they stick. It's still major progress for me.

^^^way to go! you might consider pushups and crunches, those exercise the core muscles which helps you avoid injury especially to your back. that becomes a major consideration as we all grow older and frailer.

I started delegating another work task to my new office assistant. I am amazed at how well it went today.

Nick and AB, I struggle with exercise and diet also. AB has some really good advice. I've been doing well with healthier eating for about six months, but the last couple of days have been a binge on sugar. :-(

Oh, wait! This is just for achievements! Maybe by tomorrow I can achieve better on my diet. :D

I think AB's advice is good too but I'm gonna have to take things gradually & work my way up to better eating & exercising more. Pushups & crunches could be good for me but I don't think I'm in good enough shape rite now to really do em. I need to get in a little better shape before I start & then it'll help if I had someone skilled with em to make sure I'm doing them correctly.
It's great your doing better with eating blazingstar. Your gonna slip up here & there with that so don't beat yourself up over it. Just be careful the slip doesn't become a slide. I need to be especially careful about that.

I finally broke my streak of five and a half days with 40 degrees fever. This years flu is a nasty piece of work.

I was planning on doing some walking but I started a new med the night before & was really tired. I went back to bed a little while after I was up & I still feel tired & drained. I hope I adjust to this med fast or I'm gonna have to quit taking the med. I was on it years ago & don't remember it f#cking with me this much.
