Expresso martinis are really addictive because they give you a strong buzz

My Mom gave me a bottle of Pommery Brut Royal that had been in her fridge for several years . I was looking forward to it.
Nice evening on the patio all planned out.
Ship chilled champagne and admire the garden flowers.
The cork was compromised and it had turned to vinegar. What a bummer.

What are the pros and cons of using alcohol as a way to better cope with social situations?

Probably the pros are it can help you loosen up a bit

The cons are it can encourage you to do stupid things, get into arguments and is not good for your physical health.

I take great exception to this:

https://vinepair.com/articles/highest-rated-beer-state-map-2025/

They seem to rate beer on the basis of alcohol content. For Delaware, they name a beer with over 17% ABV.

I think there are better ways to rate beer.
