The song reminds me of a person whom I had been part of or to be more precise-
being in a relationship

"Sternensoldat" by Dunkelwerk.

...and now:

"Herr Mannelig" by In Extremo.

Their rendition of the traditional Swedish folk song could have been better (their Swedish pronunciation needs some help, but still better than their Icelandic: the "ll" is pronounced more like a "ttl" and the "sj" is pronounced "sh," not "sy"). Perhaps das letzte Einhorn should have listened more carefully to Garmarna's version of the song.
The synopsis of the song is as follows: A female mountain troll falls in love with a knight, Sir Mannelig. In an attempt to win him over, she lavishes upon him fabulous gifts of golden rings, a gilded sword, 12 horses, 12 mills and new clothing. He refuses on grounds that trolls are not of "Christian" origin, meaning that they are the offspring of water spirits (Necken, or Necks) and the Devil. She then pleads with him, claiming that the only way for her to no longer be cursed (by being a troll) is to marry a (human) knight.

"Schakal" by Lacrimosa

The one band in the scene whose videos actually match with the lyrics of the song...

I've listened to Lacrimosa since they first started making music. Though some of their songs are a bit too "sappy" for me, others are more appealing, with their lyrics' vivid, dark (and often tragic) imagery laced with ever-so-slight hints of cautious optimism.

One-Winged Angel, I remember dressing up like Tilo Wolff for Hallowe'en when I was in 10th Grade. The haircut didn't go over so well with the school (a rule against "distracting and unusual" hairstyles).
