My mental health was quite good today
No sudden dips into depression and despairing thoughts
No suicide ideation
No googling the name of the lawyer to see if he got more bad reviews
There were several moments that I could have had a shutdown but I kept self-regulating and paying close attention to my thoughts. I maintained my thoughts in step-by-step form.
I did not feel guilty when the younger child whined over minor things as I knew I was trying my best and he was going to be cranky no matter what since he was ill.
I did not call xH
I took many breaks and made sure to nap as my elder woke at 3 am today.
I was even-tempered and engaged with my tasks but not obsessed.

My dad actually cared what happened to me today, something which would never have been the case even just several years ago. That made me happy that our relationship has come this far.

^ that is excellent
Tonight fr the first time my mom said something about being worried about me n said something about ‘poor her all alone with little children’ to my brother n sister.
I heard as I was on the phone with my brother. She was saying it in the background

I’m feeling somewhat grateful that she seems to care

I'm willing to try and change for myself, of course.

the snow was beautiful today, the white-laced trees were even more beautiful, the pine scent and the snow scent together were sublime. the blue/gray skies and sunshine were life-affirming.

The snow & ice on the sidewalk had actually melted enough where I could walk home from RiteAid & didn't fall on the way there.

Resurrected my miniature great highland pipes (parlor pipes). The old sheepskin bag finally gave up the ghost years ago. This month I finally found them at the back of a closet, splurged on a new synthetic bag, and today I tied it in and played them for the first time in years. Feels like renewing an acquaintance with a very dear and long-lost friend.
