I can't post pics in this thread. I've tried for three days and get the same *error posting* message. Halp!

How many are you trying to post? Don't try more than six or seven at a time. Brute force it until it gives you what you want.

A shot of the Bundestag. I believe that for a small fee, you can visit the parliament - as long as you have had the necessary security checks - when it's not in session:

Nah, that's if you want. Listen, it will probably depend on what the weather's like and if you fancy taking a detour.

Yesterday was just right, a bit chilly, but we stayed away from the rain all day

More photos?

This building is part of the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, which claims to be "one of the largest university hospitals in Europe":

The flag of Romania outside that country's embassy on Dorotheenstraße in Berlin:

The Berlin offices of the German classical liberal movement, the Free Democratic Party. It's the third-largest party in the Bundestag and serves as junior partner in the government coalition with the Union parties (Christian Democratic Union/Christian Social Union):

Not sure of the make and model of this van as there are no clear markings but anyway. This is a delivery van for a delicatessen in Berlin that specialises in Italian food. Love the livery on the side there.

The entrance to this rather posh Berlin art hotel. Notice the various flags:

Taken on Friedrichstraße with a view to the Banhof Friedrichstrasse. One of the main thoroughfares in Berlin, this is right in the city centre and is a major destination for tourists to Berlin - it's a very busy station in its own right:

Two brand names on the side of a building in Friedrichstraße - Berlitz and an orthopaedists:

Featured in this photo is the tops of both the Berliner Dom ("Berlin Cathedral" in English and the infamous "Pope's Revenge", the Fernsehturm Berlin ("Berlin TV Tower" in English). The story of the Berlin TV Tower is interesting in that it was built during the 1960s and was completed in 1969. Walter Ulbricht, leader of the Socialist Unity Party which governed East Germany, decided to allow the construction of a television tower on Alexanderplatz, modelled on the Fernsehturm Stuttgart. It was intended as a show of the GDR's strength, while its location is thought to have been deliberately chosen so that it would impose on views of West Berlin's Reichstag building (when viewed from the front). The architecture traces back to an idea from Hermann Henselmann, and Jörg Streitparth. Walter Herzog and Herbert Aust later also took part in the planning. Construction began on 4 August 1965. After four years of construction, the Fernsehturm began test broadcasts on 3 October 1969, and it was officially inaugurated four days later on the GDR's National Day. It was, however, loudly derided by both West and East Berliners alike although eventually it stuck. It is among the best known sights in Berlin, and has around a million visitors every year.

One of the many markets in Berlin at the weekend is this market at Am Zeughaus, where old trinkets, memorabilia, bric-a-brac and Soviet memorabilia may be found and purchased. Here is a photo of one of the stalls:
