BlakOpz: "Blackout"

I heard of these folks over at Coma, but haven't really had a chance to listen to their material until now. Their cheesy name is a major turn-off (as is the case with many bands in this genre) and from the two songs I've now listened to, their lyrics are reminescent of a cheap Combichrist imitation, right down to the tone of voice. Obvious allusions to Suicide Commando are also present in the lyrics and artwork. Simply too cheesy to be taken seriously. Industrial needs innovators, not clone-drones.

Oh, my love it's you that I dream of, Oh my love since that day.
Somewhere in my heart, I'm always -
Dancing with you in - the summer rain,
Every night and every day now, though I know you've gone away.
Somewhere in my heart I'm always
Dancing with you in the summer rain.

Sounds good in 720p, actually

SIN D.N.A.: "UpEvil"

The beat is slightly askew from the mainstream of the genre (I know, oxymoron), which happened to suit the song just fine. The vocal effects are too clone-drone, even with the understanding that in Elektro, it is almost a prerequisite to distort one's voice to the point that it is barely recognizable as belonging to a human (there are more than just one technique to alter the voice and these other means should be explored more often rather than just falling back on the "Suicide Commando preset" - seriously, JvR should copyright this).

Gerard McMann: "Cry Little Sister"

Dear Twilight,
This is what you could have been. The Lost Boys is a perfect example of a vampire movie with some romantic aspects that was still somehow watchable. Sparkling, overly-emotional vampiric girly-men and equally wimpy werewolves are the very things that ruined vampire movies for me. Thanks for destroying an entire genre in the film industry. May you be erased from our collective memories soon.

The Lost Boys: "One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach: all the d-n vampires."
Twilight: "One thing about living in Forks I never could stomach: all the d-n sparkling vampires."
