1 and 2 respectively.

My lie was #1, although I should be cleaning.

2 is true -- my migraine is blessedly gone
3 is true -- I'm reading for a change 8)

I believe you're lying to me with Item 1, Wolfie. You haven't been to Newfoundland because it's on your bucket list.

Nope. The 1,000 mile drive actually happened. My wife accidentally hit a deer/moose on the road to Cochrane (I believe the deer/moose survived unscathed). We left the car in Cochrane and took the Polar Bear Express train to Moosonee. Then we took the train back to Cochrane, where we picked up the car. We drove to Ottawa, to try to find a repair shop willing to fix the radiator. No luck. We stayed at a hotel in Ottawa, then left at 3 in the morning to head back to New York; luckily, we encountered no traffic all the way through!

...when am I going to learn that the most shocking statements within this thread are usually true? Oi.

Isabella is likely correct. Always insightful.

Just put the linens in the washing machine.....and wipe up the floor with Mr. Clean or whatever.

But then I'm thinking....you're a very classy lady, so you want a very classy utility room :)

In 2011, at age 50:

1. I came very close to having a lien placed on my home because of a $7,000 tax debt.

2. I reduced it down to about $1,200 through doing some simple math, and finding some old tax forms (the debt was from 2004).

3. I had a lien placed on my home, nevertheless.

Definitely not 2 because 1 and 3 can't both be true. I'm hoping it's 3.

Is it #2 then because math isn't your strong suit? It definitely isn't mine

Yes! Help! I'm trapped with Mr. Clean, my osteopath! (lol)

I've been reading but yes, the wash is finally washing and I'm on to reading a thesis about "Shirley" and "Villette". Villette is my favourite of Charlotte's novels so I may need my smelling salts

I'm glad your lien thing worked out, Korts.

Things that I'm looking at in my sitting room right now:

1. A sleeping kitty cat who is making soft snoring noises, akin to a lightweight lawnmower.

2. A delicate, black lantern which belonged to my mother's father's father. I should really use it more often.

3. A hand-made, antique Barraclough clock from Haworth (circa 1860).

#3....that Barraclough clock is either somewhere else in your family's domain, or something you fantasize about :)

You're right!
I can only wish, although my ancestors lived just two doors down from John (and later Thomas) Barraclough!

Kitty cat has since moved and I've dressed my bed with fresh sheets. Yay!

In 1999, at age 38:

1. I met a good friend of mine who is a professor. She's a happily married woman. She would hit me over the head with some sort implement should I "try something."

2. I was so scared of "Y2K" that I huddled in my home until the start of 2000.

3. I officially started majoring in Speech Pathology and English.

3. Hmmm... was it called SP or Linguistics? I think SP is only a Master's program.

But, I can't see you huddling, either...

I will throw caution to the wind and choose 3 against all odds.
