I tried different USB ports and the problem in my puter is with the OS deciding to shut down power to the USB ports, rendering the USB mouse dead. I hope when you reboot that you don't have the same problem but if you do, and you're using a laptop, chances are that you may have to do a total wipe and re-install of OS.

^ that's not a very cheery thought.
It's a tower type bizzo, though, not a laptop.

then you're in better luck, as there is a Microsoft page with the required patches to fix this, but it doesn't work on my laptop, the patch wasn't written for typical laptop BIOS and it will reject a laptop user's efforts to install it.

^ I know, it's beyond frustrating.
Part of the reason I don't get on my computer much now is that I can't navigate the damned thing.
Actually, I'm very curious now to see if it still has the stuttering problem.

it is prolly very tempting to turn it back on to see if a miracle happened, I know if I turned mine back on and the USBs suddenly worked as they did before this past February, i'd jump up and down like a fool in celebration.

I fear I will make it to the end of the year telling myself yet again "The year is ending in failure." but that will only be if I don't kill myself before then. :(

what would happen if you said, "today, just for today, I will do something which I really don't want to do but if I do it will profit me"? what would happen if you henceforth did this on a daily basis? the beauty of "just for today" is that it breaks the hard work of life into more bite-sized pieces.
some points to ponder, below-

Feel emotionally repressed

Heart hurts

Dreamt about putting on a bra over a shirt

(Not under)

It's still dark outside and colder in the morning and at night

Nothing to do all day long

Finishing up university course then deciding where to go next, as I have no formal tactical overlay in place
