Please, no need to apologize; I told you not to worry about stuff like that, and I meant it, not just as a reassurance to you, but because I'm honestly not bothered by such things. All your attentions are your best attentions as far as I'm concerned. And I still owe you a response; I have not blown you off or forgotten; I've just been terribly distracted recently.

Speaking of drinking and being distracted, I confess that I've broken my new year's resolution to stop drinking twice so far, once last Saturday, and once last night. But I did have a good reason both times; and that reason was both the same, and different, like two sides of a single coin. I regret neither transgression, and mark them as excusable whilst the resolution continues to hold in general.
