Yesterday was a leap day. I really did not understand why it was such a big deal just because it only happens every four years. It's pretty much like any other day. Maybe next time we should get some kangaroos and watch them leap around, or play leapfrog. Nahh.

That was yesterday
a kick and a punch in your mouth for the first day of the month

(not how I remember it, but no backsies!)

And what happened to my avatar?
I swear there was a guy on the moon with his hand down his pants,
and now he's gone,
baby gone!

I prefer German war tunes over The Kinks now.

Speaking of leaps, there is an old saying that goes "Look before you leap". But there's another old saying that goes "He who hesitates is lost". So which saying is the right one? And if it depends on the situation, how are you supposed to know?

The US government is a corrupt institution even more than it has ever been in the past.

and in reality, common working class citizens have not much more actual choice in who we vote for than in the old soviet union. in both cases people were allowed to choose only from a pre-vetted [by the PTB] slate of candidates.

I just finished making a pot of homemade macaroni and cheese with bacon and vegetables mixed in. :chef: But I didn't eat any because I really don't feel like eating something heavy and rich right now. :(

Maybe tomorrow...

It might seem like a really lame present, but I bought my dad some new socks for his birthday which is on March 7th. They are really good socks that he likes, and he needs them because he wears them out quickly. It's because his feet are very rough and dry, especially in winter. I also got him a funny card and I think I will buy him some candy as well.
